  1. reset the traps and see if they have any more friends

    better safe than sorry

I can garantee you will have more, i had mice in my kitchen a few years ago, only discovered i had them when i was fitting a new plumbed in fridge, and found the mice had eatten through the old fridge cable to copper, could have been nasty, anyway i started of with the humain traps and tallyed a count of five with that then the wee buggers figured out how to get in and out of the traps eating the nuts and chocolate so i had to get the snappers, final count of mice in my kitchen 22 of the feckers, 5 got off lightly and were released in a near by field the other 17 were toast.

moral of the story kep those traps set and use nuttela best thing.

  2. howday all

dont know what a version 4 is in year wise but my manual for a 2000uk turbo Sreg says the plug gaps should be 1.0 - 1.1mm on 6B's, thats what i have them set at thought it was a tad wide myself visualy looking at them, the does car has a minor splutter approx 3 - 3.5k rpm when cruisin at 30ish do you fellas thinks its due to the plug gap if the recommendation is 0.65mm on here?????

  3. you can open the boost solenoid to clean it, buy opening the four bent over claws, inside is just a simple metal diaphram that has a rubber seal moulded to the circumfrance, that i suppose moves back and forth with air pressure.

I have pics available of it open to show inside if any one is interested just pm me and i will email them accross.

its a very easy job to do and a better result than just spraying carb cleaner into a hole on the end of it.

obviously i cannot take responsibility if someone trys it and breaks theirs, LOL.

  4. update

seems to have fixed itself, engine light no longer staying on.

Just wondering if some moisture / dampness got into the sensor during the 2 weeks of no use, then the small drive i went on sunday night must have put some heat back into it and dry it out.

anyway running now sweet as a nut.

  5. sensor under alternator is the oil switch

knock sensor is black with a 2 pin injector type plug on it

hmm the diagram i see for sensor locations identified it as the sensor under the altinator, and other forums talk about removal usinf a long reach extension bar and a socket. will need to have another look.

  6. Hi all

Got a new fault on the brief.

Basically the car was running fine after a cylinderhead rebuild in sept due to lossing coolant and over heating, ran it for over 500miles problem free prior to going north for 2 weeks where the car has been square wheeled for the two weeks in the drive while i was on holiday.

Came back sat tried to turn it over but had flat battery, charged the battery all day sun and then stuck it back in the car tonight when i got home from the office, turned it over started first time but by the time i got out to close the bonnet and jump back in the cockpit i now have the check engine light, so i jumped back out and connected the black ECU connectors Fault Code 22 - (Knock Sensor) shows up checked the sensor connection for the knock sensor under the altenator seems fine tried to clear the ECU using the green and black plugs but it never cleared.

Any ideas what can cause this? as i cant believe it has failed just sitting in the drive not being used.

  7. hi all

needing a little help identifying sensors under the bonnet. see pic below, have i labled the boost solenoid correct?? but whats the other 2 things as there is a hose leading from one to the other the bottom one labled No2 i think must be some sort of filter as it seems to have holes on the black cover.

how do i clean the solenoid as its been suggested it may be sticking cos im only getting 0.5 bar boost on my gauge as it looks like a sealed unit to me.

  8. i'll be getting one of these best on the market in my opinion as it clips into the isofix base first to do so in the market it can even get a MOMO version. ----- http://www.jane.es/seguretat/index.php?fus...=montecarloplus

the iso fix bae is also the first in the market to have a shock asorb piston ram in side to obsorb the shock god forbid your ever in the position to use it.

need a jane brand anyway as i have went for this pram combo collect it next week not in these colours i might add, even has disk brakes (wink wink makes it easier for me to push it then LOL). ---- http://pan2.fotovista.com/dev/2/5/02617352/l_02617352.jpg

  9. Thats looks really cool mate, nice wheels and interior....and the sunroof looks quality!! you should have kept it :)

I wish i did, looking back. it did cost me an absolute fortune though on things breaking basically 1 thing after another got totaly sick with forking out cash all the time.

Made the promise never to get another one that was as old and here i am again, another classic same age. LOL

  10. i had a classis UK2000 turbo a few years back, think i seen it in the airdrie area 2 years ago. it was silver with leather interior and factory fit sunroof canny be to many of them kicking about.

reg on it was S922 LST pic below, it would have a bashed drivers door as i traded it in for a new car so i never got around to repairing the door prior to the trade. i can give you some important new componets fitted back then.

  12. Thought it was about time i posted a pic of the brief that has been giving me all the grief lately, waiting on a pipe coming from hongkong, (F**king fly git from fleabay said postage from essex) over a week later still waiting on it arriving to get the engine back in, been bored so done a bit of tinkering while i have been waiting. all cosmetic stuff various silicone hoses here and there, straightning the fins on the top intercooler (very bored) and a bit of handy paint work that im well chuffed with, cant wait to get it back in to see how it looks.
