  1. Wired up the 2 subs to two amps ie 1 amp each [] tonight Er very bassy! any tips for getting the bass 'tighter' ? it's very boom rather than low frequency - if that makes sense The boot is rattling like a tin of sweets- haha- i have 2 sheets of dynamat to put in tomorrow. The set-up at the mo= 2x 300W subs running of an amp each provding the bass and.............. the rear 10cm speakers running of the headunit providing the rest!!- hehe (the front components were running of the second amp) Ive asked Santa for a further amp for Xmas to power the fronts Tomorrow- weather dependent- dynamat down, finish framework, watch Spurs beat Ar****l [], shape MDF to fit, and cover in material... well as much as that as poss Trevor

  9. Reran the RCA/speaker cable down the driver's side and the power down the other and it worked- but i don't think that was the problem!! but it solved it. Trevor
  10. Managed to get some of the frame work in today Amp is just wired up so i can still have sound while i build it I've built it in such a way as to still be able to get the spare out if needed/or all out if doing a drag or track day etc to reduce weight Unfortunately i spotted this little bargain on ebay Well if you're gonna do things do it big (however if performance is assed by the weight i'll stick with a single) I'll keep you posted [] Trevor

  12. Ian at H&S told me not to bother with lagging. And i dont know what they are called either anyway! I found that the turbo was a little more responsive (say100/200rpm) when i decatted my uppipe- you will also now hear it spool up which is cool! I cant help you with the fitting I made the trip to H&S in Essex on excellent advice and reviews The green panel filter i've done too no complaints there Good luck[] Trevor
  13. I have a full H&S decat - you won't regret it[] ...and a green panel filter too Trevor
  14. I can do the 8th too, but need to pick my missus up from her Christmas do around 11/12 [] Trevor
  15. .....and for people like me [:$] , is there a subtitled version of what Trevor has just said lol lol.... For Barry= Putting bigger (better quality) speakers in the front (the ones that were in the front now putting into the rear)run off 2 separate amps (for better quality sound) Dynamat= soundproofing speaker cables ive ran down one side of the car and the power cables down the other to avoid interference Now thats better Trevor
  16. Well it actually produces bass now- swapped RCA and speaker cables one side and power run down the other (schoolboy error!!) Upgraded the fronts from Infinity 5010cs reference to 6.5 infinity kappas (well 1 of them today- with dynamat this time)- no pics but will take same for the drivier's side swap- Going to fit the 5010cs into the rear and mount the tweeter on the actual door- gasp- by cutting a hole in the fabric! if you're gonna bodge bodge it BIG i say however these will run off a cheap Kicker amp til i can afford another infinity one. The actual boot install has stalled due to trying to figure out how to get it level in a subaru non-level boot!! (any ideas??) needs a bit more figuring out [] Trevor
  17. I hope you didnt scratch the lights though!! Trevor
  18. Q How long do you need articles to be? Do you need pics? etc? I could do my 2nd part of stereo install if that's a good article? "Mr Wooding's Project Stereo Bodge" [Y] Trevor

  22. Whilst im lubed up anyone slipped it up the backdoor before? Worth it? Trevor
  23. Bought some in Woolies today I'll lube up Friday morning before Norwich I expect to use colourful language / and to cry Trevor
  24. I shall lube up and try and poke it through- there are 2 bends and it is tighter than Tighty McTight the Mayor of Tight Town. Oddly though i dont have those white net curtain pole/bendy things like my Mum had- I'll ask the Old lady next door- then blow her face off with some of my UK Speed Garage HipHop Urban Ragga Jazz Symphonies- maybe some Chaka Khan or Supertramp - if it fails- i'll go standard cables... and pop on an Audio book for the old girl- something about knitting maybe []Fingers crossed Trevor
  25. Yes thats true I suppose. Im going to run the fronts of an amp to get more out of them so just thought better cable - however it does seem like a lot of work/tears/grief/colourful language for a little return. So shall i just snip the speaker wires behind the HU and run a length from the amp and connect them up instead? Would be a lot easier in that case. Trevor
