Something very strange just happened
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Looking very classy, the envy of every STi out there. Nice work by Ricey, I now know who to hunt down for a bit of custon paintwork [] -
Ohh yes looking sweet and a great job with the layout, in an ideal world all scoobies would come like that as standard! I really miss having large subs in the car, cruising is so much more enjoyable when you feel the bass aswell as hear it []
-
Raddish - Unfortunately the motorbike did indeed get the better of me in the end, although for a while i was in the lead and almost believed i may pull of the impossible [] Adam - Ever thought about an upgrade to a scooby for some 4wd bliss [] Still a very respectable time of 13.9, i remember that was what my scooby was doing prior to the remap so not bad at all. Was annoyed about that last run as i miss shifted into 4th and given the 1.887s 60ft time it could have been a sweet run, maybe one day i will learn how to drive!! [] Fee - My 60ft time for the run that you mentioned was actually 0.4s quicker, hehehehe [] JonnyR6 were you driving the grey scooby that was roasting me on the strip?
-
Yeah man that was me, a pleasure to have eaten your dust []. If you dont mind may i ask what you had done to your scoob, are you running a TD05 turbo? Good to see a few scoobs about at Crail, but after my shocking performance against the rest of the scoobs (1 win out of 5 i think it was!) was feeling a bit lacking on the power front or ability to drive one of the two!! [] Waiting to see how a recent traffic violation pans out and maybe think about some more mods soon (fingers crossed), when that happens i shall be looking for another run against your good self and the mighty FEE!!
-
Some nice pics Fee. Definately think you are getting the hang of the starts as you showed me today []. Some good time there had by both yourself and Adam, got to say that Corsa you guys have well rapid nice work!!
-
Had a blast today at Crail. Unfortunately i was eating Fee's dust today also! Got a mate of mine to get some footage of my racing, he has a stormer of myself being humbled by the mighty FEE (wanna make it best out of three[]) Which scooby was your's Weeb. Was taken down a peg or two by a few scoobs today so was probably on your beaten list, but luckily regained some moral by beating the corvette and the other crazy black race car that was floating about definately one of my better moments []

1. Fee 2. Adam 3. Brian 4. Playsatan2 5. JohnnyR6 6. Coulty 7. Iqy Itching to warm the tires up down the strip lets hope the weather holds out. Hope to have a run against some of you folk if you are up for it[]

Advice on Carbon Fibre bonnets for Classic.
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to pm9575's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi mate Got a carbon fibre style bonnet on my classic impreza. Firstly there are two types of carbon firbred bonets i have seen out there, there is the 'real' carbon fibre bonnets and the carbon style effect bonnet. As you can imagine the rel carbon fibre one is more expensive than the carbon styled one and due to being carbon fibre is tough as nails, a mate reconed that you could even jump up and down on a real carbon bonnet and you wont see a scratch (would not like to be the one to put it into practise mind [] ). Furthermore these are the light-weight bonnets and so reduce overall weight and thus increase performance (provided you car aint weighted down with tons of ICE and bits and bobs already!) The carbon style bonnet (which is the one i have) gives a nice illusion of carbon fibre but is by no means as durable or as light (however is slightly lighter than the oe bonnet). The bonnet i have has a nice layer of laquer over it so shines nicely when polished however the laquer layer is also susceptable to stone chips and thus leaves blemishes on the carbon bonnet that i am unsure can be taken out easily. In my opinion the chips are minor and are only observable under close scrutiny. Furthermore carbon bonnets in my experience all seem to have some sort of minor imperfection in the size, on mine the part of the bonnet that sits on the grill is ever so slightly warped on the lefthand side however its not to noticeable so i am happy with it. Also i have seen some bonnets that are slightly not wide enough for the same fit as the oe bonnet, but in most occations it is not too noticeable. My advice would be to try and get a closer look at some other scoobs (or even non scoobs) with carbon bonnets on and see if you would be happy with the fit as i ended up paying a few hundred for mine so i wanted to be sure it was gonna fit right properly for that type of cash. personally i have to say that i have never been happier with my car after i got the bonnet, it really transforms the look and turns those heads!! [] Hope that was some help to you mate! Iqy -
Was not too bad a day even if it was chucking it down for most of it, just meant you got to lap up some wheel spin at the strt for once. Only managed a 13.8 which inspite of my 2.6s 60ft times and nearly smshing into the tyre barriers on a couple of occations [] There was a definate lack of stands about on the day, and the queue was a nightmare (too nearly an hour to get round on one occation!). Was also pissed off at the number of folk that were cutting the queue by challenging some guy about ten metres from the front, just leaves you with around 20 cars getting constant runs and the rest of us getting more and more pissed off!! Was really annoyed i got caught speeding on the way down too doing XXXmph which aint looking too good on the old points front, left in the courts hands to decide now (i only have mself to blame).

Hi mate Got me a set of the Whitelink front and rear droplinks put onto a MY00 Classic and really did notice a huge difference in the handling, both at low and higher speeds! Kept finiding proir to the placement of the droplinks if i turned into a corner too hard then i felt the steering give a little and then be back to normal (not always just when really going for it!). The 'give' i found lead to instability during turning and required minor adjustments to the turning angle quite frequently, with the droplinks in place this problem had been eliminated for me and and the car was more surefooted resulting in less correction during hard turns and greater overall speeds during turning I would recommend going for the droplinks and front and rear struts aswell, i found with this combination the turing capabilities were amazing even given the standard suspension!! Hope that is some use for you mate!
-
I quite like it, got some nice styling ideas going on!! Like the coulour and the pinted/carbon look to the bonnet, Classic scoobies all the way Not too sure if i am keen on the guages on the front bumper but at least the fella is trying something new with his design and so long as he is hapy that is the main thing . Definately a Chav Idol and a half!
-
Will definately be there, been itching for the season to start again! Recon its probably gonna be mobbed being a mag event and also one of the opening days but bring it on!!
-
Hi mate, are you sure it was not a silver scooby with loads of carbon fibre? Mine is a classic uk200 with as much c/f as i can get a hold of Was around Sherifhall at 8.40-8.50 ish racing my wheels of to get to the cinema in time after picking up my good lady! If you remember mine has got P1 Splitter and Carbon Afterburner tail lights on it if you managed to spy either of those?

Glad you got your problem all sorted out, thought i saw your scoob at AWD when i was in getting a sevice done. Hopefully see you up at Crail when it all starts up again!

AWD si.d.c OPEN DAY DATE sat 22nd April 06
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to swanie's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Probably be able to make it, good thing you got it on the weekend unlike the previous Whiteline seminar (Which i was gutted at missing!!). On another note, big thanks to all the boys at AWD for the service you did to the car. My scooby has never felt so alive, plus the droplinks have increased the stability round the corners like nothing else. Should be all set in time for the up and coming Crail races, bring it on!![] -
Got a few minutes to spare??
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to dave_morgan's topic in Scottish Scoobies

Hi mate Will be getting my belt done at AWD this weekend on my classic scoob, costing £150 ish for the belt and the labour for the change. Iqy

Roll cage was a good investment........
mazheriqbal_mohammed replied to col666's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Thats one serious crash, indeed the roll cage was one hell of a good investment!! Hope the drivers involved were all alright mind! << Kind of strengthens my resolve not to do Hot Hatch / Scrappy Races days >> Ditto mate, i think a tiny scratch on my scoob is horrific but loosing wings and a front bumper, etc .....no comment!!! << the corsa looks like its half way to a crx conversion >> Actually thought it was a crx at first glances
