<< Alright all,
Just thought I'd post up regarding my poor resluts at Dastek last weekend....
Well, made a phonecall to Nobles on Monday morning and explained the situation. Long story short, they told me to take it in and they would check everything over. Took it in first thing this AM and one of guys plugged some kinda computer into it and then ragged the @r5e off it for 15mins (using a quarter tank in the process ).
Just had a phoncall from Colin at Nobles to say that they need the car for 2 days to 're-programme' a few things - apparantly some of the work needs to be done while the car is 'cold' (??). Unfortunately he never went into too much detail, but hopefully this should sort things out!
While I'm on, John (Mr NTS) you mentioned something about a problem with oil in the engine bay or something - sorry but given that it was the back of 8 on a Saturday morning I didn't catch exactly what the issue was.... any chance you could do me a refresher course so I can get them to deal with that when the car goes back in, thanks m8.
Won't be putting the car in until the middle of the month but I'll let you know what happens.
Cheers for noo, Thomo. >>
Thomo, soz for the delay matey, there is an unofficial recall on any car with AVCS ( basically the STi's ) there are oil control valves on top off the cylinder heads there are bolts on these that need to be checked for torque settings, so far there are no reported problems on UK cars but there has been some JDM cars with leaks and rumour has it that several went on fire. It only takes about 1/2 hr and should be checked when they have the car in. From what I hear the dealers are not actually asking you to bring your car in to be checked thay are only doing it at the next service interval, personnally I found this a bit disconcerting due to the possibility of the outcome.
Hope your mapping has been sorted.
John.
