  9. PM the Jolly Green Monster, I'm sure he can fit you in a lot sooner than that and he certainly wont cost as much unless you just want to give him the money! Simon has just done my car over the last couple of weeks and its now pushing out 1.4 bar boost and a rough estimate 340-360 bhp! If you want to know how quick it is just ask Phil or Karl from Barretts Motorsport (they have just done a 2.5l conversion of an STi and he reckons mines is much quicker) [] Give him a call nothing to lose and he is a top bloke! Good luck Wee Jock
  10. i did say could be an earth probs but hard to trace without the right tools.............. i didn't have a shovel on me[6] Make up a flying lead, bolt it on to the car at nearest accesable point, short it on to the negative part of the indicator lamp and try the indicators1 If that dont work then i doubt its a dodgey earth! Off to bed see u 2morrow Dean! [|-)]

  16. Tony, all the mods I have done on my car at the moment are all bolt ons, no engine work as of yet! I had the compression ratios checked and every thing is spot on! My bolt ons are: Full Scooby sports de-cat Some mad Jap 5" Tail pipe FMIC Forge Dump Valve 550 Injectors 255 Walbro Fuel Pump FPR TSL Parallel Fuel Feed VF34 Turbo with larger compressor wheel to allow for longer boost! [] Cheers wee jock
  17. Finally my car has been mapped, now producing 1.4 bar of boost! [] I have had an Apexi Power Fc installed along with the AVC-R Boost controller! If anyone is thinking of doing this and they have an older classic with coil packs, I would strongly suggest that they change them b4 you get mapped, change the spark plug gap down to .6 as well. This will probably save a lot of time and money in the long run! Would like to say a big THANK YOU to Simon Roe (JOLLY GREEN MONSTER) for all his help over the past couple of weeks, if anyone is looking for a mapper then I would recommend Simon to anyone! (Top Bloke [H] ) wee jock
  18. I buy mine direct from Millers Oils, its the cheapest option! http://www.millersoils.net/index2.html Slanj wee jock
  19. Nathan, was it a repetative click when the car started boosting? cheers Paul
  20. Cheers Ian You wouldnt be running an Apexi AVC-R by any chance?
  21. Only upgraded cos I got my Apexi []
  22. Here is some info on the Z4 ECU: Boost Targets & Fuel-Cut Limits WRX/STi Saloon ECU's 2C, U8, W6, W9 - As above, 11.47psi held to redline. Fuel-cut 14.57psi WRX (1995/96) ECU Z4 - 12.71psi, dropping to 11.78psi @ 6600rpm. Fuel-cut 15.65psi. UK/Aus/Euro ECU's V7, 7D and 6D - 11.47psi, dropping to 9.47psi at 6600rpm. With Fuel-cut @ 14.87psi UK Prodive ECU - 13.33psi (peaks to 13.64 @ 5600rpm, drops to 12.71psi @ 6600rpm). Fuel-Cut 15.65psi. STi RA (1996) ECU 7K - 13.17psi (peaks to 13.64psi @ 5800rpm). Fuel-Cut 15.96psi. WRX Wagon ECU V9 - 10.55psi dropping to 6.84psi (starts to drop @ 5000rpm). Fuel-Cut 13.79psi Z4 and UK Prodrive map are near identicle, with the Prodrive Map running slightly more boost. IMHO the Z4 ECU is the best stock WRX ECU you can get, as it has much tidier fuel and igntion maps. Comparing it to the earlier ECU's I'm suprised the earlier cars run at all..... A Z4 ECU will also run fine in a UK and give near UK PPP performance cheers Wee Jock
  23. Buy a second hand Z4 ECU!
