  1. Lets face it, SVA Testing is a joke anyways. The amount of ***** that ive seen passed through places is unbelieveable. HID is the last thing to worry about the cars that are rolling outta there.

as i was told by the dvla ' the sva is only there to prove that it is what it is , the mot is there to prove it is road legal'

that was while i was going thru the motions of registering a kit car .

  2. Definitely worth it for the discounts alone mate, not to mention the Track Days and legal cover amongst other things! :)

i must admit i have never looked into the benefits of membership , i will have a look into it this week of maybe talk to some of the east anglian people at the meet tomorrow if anyone is going

  3. I suspect as you are not a paid member then you are getting the Google Ads which I dont think you can get rid of..............someone will probably come along and prove me wrong :)

ah well thats that then , i will just have to pay up then i think

  4. is there any way i can get rid of the adverts at the top of the page as i cant see half of the links , i realise they may be a necessary evil to help keep the site going but it is no good if i cant see some of the site

  5. You'd better take along a bicycle, and ride it on the road to hold up all the normal people ;) Its like bloody Bangkok :)

i have noticed there are alot of bikes about , reminds me of holland , i will be down at the red lion as i will need to go somewhere for my tea (or maybe dinner) anyway , assuming they do food

  6. I'd stuff a bit of kitchen roll or similar in the hole with the supect spoiler bolt and then keep an eye on it for signs of water getting in that way..

Or as suggested, find a willing volunteer to hide in the boot with a torch while you hose it down from the outside! :););)

can you not put some water based paint around the suspected leak in areas , let it dry and then hose the car and see where the paint is washed off , although you may want to remove any carpet etc first just in case

  7. i realise this isnt particularly scooby related but i am coming down to cambridge with work for a month and was wondering if there was anything to do or see (or not) in or around cambridge as i will be there for a month and will need to find something to do in the evenings weekends , or places to avoid

i must say i am in my late 30's so going to student bars gettin wrecked and fighting aint my thing :rotfl:

  8. here is my latest purchase , i have had a legacy for the last couple of years for carrying my trials bike around but i have managed to break my golden rule and save up so i could get my dream 2 door

i have had it for a few weeks now but only just got round to registering with photobucket to host the pics which are here

    http://s769.photobucket.com/albums/xx338/f...ype%20r%20pics/

assuming i have done it right.

i dont know why you would want so much red but it wasnt for me so it has nearly all gone

let me know what you think

  9. well as far as my humble opinion goes i agree with what has been posted previously , all the imprezas are good at what they do to an extent , but my favourite (since the first day i clapped eyes on one , is the 22b although i cant afford one so bought a type r ) and as far as i am concerned it is as good as i thought and imagined and (as sad as it sounds ) spends a lot of time looking at , and washing it.

but i must also point out , i believe a lot of owners find the sound and handling of one the most addictive things otherwise they would buy the likes of evos skylines etc as lets face it they aint the most reliable

    but we love em .

    or at least i do

    yes i rate

    1: classic

    2:hawkeye

    3:hatch

    4:bugeye

    5:blobeye

  10. that does throw up an issue as , i insured my untaxed impreza while it was in my garage , i only did this as my buildings and contents would not cover it (they said no motor vehicle is coverered and should be insured in its own right) , when i asked my insurance about the untaxed issue they said i was insuring the car against theft from my private property (although it still covers the car should i tax it) it may be a bit of a grey area

  11. if there is a type approval number listed on the log book of a car does that mean it has had an sva , i thought that type approval and sva's were 2 different things the reason i ask is a type r i am thinking of buying has a type approval number on the log book but i cant remember there being one on my old wrx import

  12. i tried the confused website to get a quote using the reg plate but it didnt recognise it , that said it didnt recognise my volvo when i had it either and was told it was because it had never been insured with them before under that reg (private plate) anyway i tried to do a selling listing with the reg on ebay and that did bring the car up with the same details as the v5 and the hpi .

as for insurance i agree with you , i have had my quotes for a type r and will be insuring it as a type r and since it doesnt say it is anything else on the log book i cant see how anyone can accuse me of trying to defraud any insurance company.

  13. i must say i much prefer the fact that the stuff is missing rather than wrong , the last thing i want to do is insure a car as one thing and the insurance fob me off if i had an accident deu to the car being another , i have heard about cars being insured as gl's when in fact they are type r's or ra's , i would have thought you would be in a world of pain should something happen
