  1. I'm pretty sure this is my partners brothers old car. He had the car imported in new by Litchfield, had it for nearly 2 years and only did about 3k miles. Ended up trading it in a for a double cab ;)

I think there were only 2-3 white ones imported. Very nice car.

  2. Yeah hawk-eyes seem to be worse than the blobs as they stick out more at the front over the wheels... I remember Marc (Boyakasha) trying to get in and out of the one next to the train station, which has pretty harsh ramps, I think that he even tried reversing down the carpark to avoid the scraping, which of course failed miserably... ;)

Yip I remember that night well

That was the first and last time my car ever went near a multi storey carpark

  3. yup Cusco kid is indeed the man to see for whiteline gear, and he does them at very good prices :(

Dunk are the prices cheaper than Dave Featherstone from Demontweeks?

    He was offering 15% off.

To give you an exampe he was doing the anti lift kit for £114

  4. bonnet had been replaced as panel gap was way off regardless of whether steel or alloy. section where front door mounts also felt matt.

Must admit the bonnet did weigh a ton, but overall at the current money it isn't a bad buy.

Where the wind deflectors are stuck on requires some paint and tidying up as well.

Not sure about the box, and I'd also say that it was a UK block that had been stuck in so there is no way it was running 265bhp

  5. I know Marc and Duncan are going up to look at the White WRX RA :D

Carl is looking at buying stuff as well but I don't know what............

Otherwise it looks a little quiet doesn't it.

Wish I was home as I'd be raiding the piggybank right now to see if the are any spares "coffers" I could use. :o

    Russell

Sure am, will make a nice little project car ;)

  6. They don't have 6 airbags, and the seats are better in the imports. You should get more for an import! Also, no security as standard (mine is like fort knox though )

The car did cost around £3.5k less than a UK one, so I would expect to sell at roughly that below a UK model.

It is strange but that's just how the market dictates, you buy a Type UK and you get the full back up from Subaru no messing around asn as you say the Import is around £3.5k less new so this margin remains roughly the same untill you get down to cars that are a lot older then the margin decreases in proportion to the overall value of the car.

  7. Thanks for the info guys, it certainly does sound amazing. I'll just need to drive one now to see what it's like  Never even been in one, so really looking forward to it!

My cousins mate had to sell his due to "worrying about killing himself" Bring it on!

There are a couple of essentials to look for, make sure it has the bucket seats as the in-laws got the optional 'wide ar$e' Recaros which suck. Obviously the full Sat Nav but there was also an option on the suspension and you could get uprated sports suspension pack as well but this was not widely known. Oh and if you manage to find one with ceramic brakes you're laughing.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll have a big cheesy grin after your first test drive.

  8. The RS4 is very special, spent last weekend driving the in-laws one. I love the start up as well, that V8 is awesome and the handling is ridiculous and theirs is the avant. They've also got the special paint option (metallic dark purple) which looks amazing.

What I would say is that after a while you do not realise just how fast this car can go as it is effortless and I guess that is why I still love my MY07 STi as it gives me the kick in the a$$ that the RS4 doesn't. Never less I still enjoy driving the RS4 even if it's just on the odd occasion.

I've got my radar still set on the RS5 but will have to get her in doors on side

  9. 1 - Light checks are part of the checklist, however it went in with one numberplate light out, and came back the same, so they were not very thorough with the light checks.... (I did it later myself, it was just a bulb change req'd)

2 - As I also have a company car which is a Land Rover I have been a frequent user of T&C Land Rover along the road. Every time I get my car back from them it is gleaming with ultra clean wheels etc. and even the inside sometimes gets a clean...... T&C Subaru obviously don't do this, I know that seems trivial but its really nice to get an ultra-clean car back from a service...

Overall - Good job done IMHO

    <_<

George you must be mental to let any of them wash your car. Most of these places use some sort of concentrated detergent so kiss goodbye to any wax that you had on the car.

  10. HI,

I was speaking to Mike Wood from Prodrive asking about the PPP for the 2008 STI hatch, here is the info I was given.

The first parts are due to go in to Subaru in the next week or so, so your dealer will be able to place an order on your behalf now. Part number is SACC2811. Power wise tt's the same as 330S so 330PS & 470NM. 0-60 is 4.5 seconds.

I contacted my dealer but they said the part is not available for order yet but would phone when it was available.

    Cheers

    Willie

Save your money Willie and go see AndyF, no sure if the EcuTek is available but Andy will tell you.

0-60 in 4.5, Prodrive love to talk BS. The 330s is quoted at 4.8 :rotfl:

Real world would be 5-5.5s and your clutch aint going to last long trying to get that.

  11. It's not bad when you consider EVO's are that sort of price.

True but this is a Subaru and the MY06/07 only cost about £27k with PPP

With the current market at rock bottom I'd be surprised to see these sell.
