  1. Socks are purely a get you home item, from what i've found out they'll disintegrate on bare tarmac. winter tyres on a set of cheap rims is the way to go, they may look pish but not as pish as the car upside down in a field if it spins out.

  2. I am taking it down to Cornwall next week and back so that will be a very good test of it's long term economy :)

    Brian.

Where about in cornwall do you head for? We're just back from St Agnes, had a week down there. We did about 1500 miles in the week and got near enough 50mpg in the saab.

  3. Very nice car, went to look at the previous shape one a couple of months ago. Unfortunately still out of my price range at the moment, maybe next time.

Keep us updated on the mpg, is your driving motorway or town?

  4. Mines been parked up for over a year now, it owes me nothing and i'd get next to nothing for it as it's a scabby uk turbo but it's never missed a beat in 7 years so i've figured it'll stay put until i can afford to run it again.

So i'll go with the general view and say keep it.

  5. Did this last year too and thought it was overpriced, plus i had 2 other cars out at the same time as me and they were considerably slower so i kept having to stop and wait as they wouldn't let us past. Got to the end and the instructor said "well done, now i'll take you round in a hot lap" To which i replied "is that it? do i not get any more laps" I felt somewhat cheated by it all and the instructor crashed off

  6. , Subaru have done a top job on that engine!

I'm sure i'd read somewhere they were no where near as refined as the other diesels on the market or have as good mpg. Never driven one but if they were half decent i'd seriously consider one for the wife when they get more affordable. She want a 4wd estate next and there aren't that many to chose from.

  7. It's a company van not mine, I don't care what happens to it so next time it'll be parked in your boot.

Think a lot of people forget that when cutting up white van man, we usually have a lot less to lose. I gave a bloke a nice big groove in his front bumper with the side rack in my last van after he tried to pull into my lane on a roundabout.

  8. Never had my car mapped, it's alway been the agricultural way. Fuel cut defender and screw up the boost. Never had a bit of bother. It has standard and high boost of the controller though.

  9. If you need any help just give me a shout, happy to help with some spannering / unbolting :P

    Daz

Now you know i'm gonna hold you to that mate. I've got a fully loaded toolbox and not a clue how to use it ;)

    Cheers for the help folks
