<< And finally.............................."I'm sure there's a shop up here somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>
PMSL, ROTFLMAO
And that was the cool down lap at the end of the day!!!
Mr Scooby had been twitching and sideyways out of the hairpin all morning, but i'd controlled him. So on the cool down lap at the end of the day, since we were all crawling round anyway and heading in, i said "Right, let see just how sideways this car'll go" - and that was the result! We went totally sideways one way, thought i had it back, when he went sideways the other way, and with no grip we just went wwweeeeeeee round! Was PMSL tho. Even more when i saw someone running down the bank with a camera taking pics
Said to Weeb, wait and see how many pics of this get posted on SIDC?! Cheers Dougster

I aint mechanically minded i'm afraid, but speaking from own experience...
I've got a 98 STI Type R, and it had the standard clutch on it when i bought it, and all seemed to be fine - until my 1st trip to Crail
Did rather a few more runs than i said i would
and by lunchtime it was smelling a bit! Went up against a TVR, which had been posting similar times to me and came looking for me in the queue (
) and was doing well until i went for 3rd gear but the clutch wouldnt work!!! Parked the car up, and let the clutch cool so i could do a couple of final runs at the end of the day, and that was the end of my clutch lol.
I went for an AP Organic Clutch from TSL. I have NEVER experienced any clutch problems since it was fitted, and i use Mr Scooby at both Knockhill and Crail. And it's still easy to drive, even with heels on
I sure the techy peeps will come along and give u loads of informative suggestions...

Hiya,
BIG thanx to everyone who's replied to this thread with advice
Sorry for not replying before
We tried all weekend to remove the f##kin nuts, but no joy. Then i was in hospital on Monday, just for day case surgery, so was taking it easy today.
Still no success tho folks!
Have tried all the hammering on things suggestions.
The tool for removing that a few people mentioned - thats the one i bought originally and doesnt work on my wheels!
I didnt want a welding torch near the wheels either, cos dont want to damage the paint/laquer (wheels werent originally that colour
).
Had been wanting the new discs on at the weekend so i could get them bedded in before Knockhill on Sunday. I'll be taking it easy now this week, so wont be driving Mr Scooby anyway, so even if we found a miracle answer it would be too late for the discs, so they'll have to wait until after Knockhill anyway.
Looking like i'll have to send the key away and get another one
! Unless anyone has a light bulb appear over their head after track time at Knockhill on Sunday (altho i still have to drive 150 miles home afterwards, so i would have to have the wheels still on please!)
Dorkin - there is a 3 digit code on the side of the key (which i cant remember at present, and is out in the locked garage, inside my locked car - and i aint going outside!). I'll have a look at it 2morr and let u know what it is. Does urs have the same?
Once again, thanx everybody for trying to help.
At least i discovered that the fkn locking wheel nuts work!!!
Cheers,
Jacqui

Cheers guys for all the advice so far.
After just reading Craigs post, i nipped out to the garage, but it's not very good light, and these were taken on my phone, so i apologise for the poor quality, but these were the best i could do in the dark!...

PLEASE, PLEASE, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY - HELP!
I have a set of locking wheel nuts on Mr Scooby. They came with the car when i bought it 2 years ago, and they're aftermarket wheels.
Problem being, now my new brake discs have arrived, the wheels need to come off this weekend in order to fit said new shiny brake discs - and the locking wheel nut broke!!!!
I've tried all my local places, and nobody has these locking wheel nuts. I can order a new one, but that entails sending off broken key, and a new one been made, then sent out - no use, would take FAR too long.
Tried a precision engineering place and he said for the cost involved he wouldnt make a copy one.
Bought a "Locking Wheel Nut Remover" thats supposed to break them off, and was told would work, but needed an air gun to operate. So, got a local tyre firm who said they would do it no probs, so took Mr Scooby and said gadget down to them - and it wont work on my locking wheel nuts!
Tearing my hair out! Wheels have to come off this weekend.
Anybody have any suggestions? I dont care how u know, or wot "tools" u may have, or how u acquired the knowledge! Just need to get the damn things off - without damaging my wheels.
And btw, i wasnt the dafty who broke the key!
Cheers,
Jacqui

An update for anyone who posted in this thread...
Had the Zero Sports Therm & Cool Rad fitted on Sunday (Cheers Tango and Gee WR1
)......result = SUCCESS!!!
Car seems to be running fine, temp gauge doesnt move anywhere past middle of the gauge. Mucho relieve!
Car hasnt had too much use since Sunday, but i'm sure Knockhill at the end of Sept will be the ultimate test
For everyone who posted with advice, cheers very much
I'm a happy bunny again!
Cheers.

<< Yeah mines a cup with bargain basement upholstery >>
pmsl
I've got plush leather and alacantra seats (woooho!)
<< Have you had any experience with the clio sport forum? I found a lot of negative comments and just not the general knowledge and good nature of the scottish scoobs. I'll just have to do the same as you and get an Impreza as well ! >>
I did go onto the Renaultsport forum for a while, when i first got the Clio, but it wasnt of much use really. Everyone either complaining or talking about Trackdays which are way too far away! Came back home to Scottish Scoobies...
pmsl at getting an Impreza too
Ah, but u dont see what my fuel bill is a month running those 2 cars
But i wouldnt swap either of them for anything
Have fun with the 182
Maybe one day u'll return to Scooby ownership too!

Could u post up ur address/some directions please???

If there are any of these places left towards the track day, can a couple be converted to Non-Member places???
I have someone who would luv a track day, but isnt a SIDC member (and doesnt wanna be cos doesnt have a Subaru!)
