  1. Nice one! Cannae beat a clean white classic.
  2. Calders! Might want to have a look elsewhere first m8. Had dealings with them in the past, but don't think I'd buy anything from them. I'm sure if you do a wee search on here you'll find plenty of comments from others as well.
  3. Hi seano, absolutely delighted with it m8! They've done a terrific job. The wheel arch was the only bit of the car that was letting it down and with it being white, I thought it wouldn't be long until the rust staining would appear, so I bit the bullet and got it sorted. I had thought if I couldn't get it repaired satisfactorily I might trade it in, but I aint selling it now. Thanks for the heads-up m8. norry.
  4. MY 98 standard UK spec 22-23mpg on a good day! But a lot less than that on a REALLY good day Fuel economy wasn't really my top priority when I bought the sccob. Still isn't and still lovin it almost 5 years on.
  5. seano Needing a bit of work done to the rear wheel arch and totally paranoid about the scooby being taken for a 'wee test drive' by some apprentice at the nearest bodyshop, so hope you don't mind me asking. BUT JB Coachworks in Paisley, they're OK? No test pilots? When it comes to the motor I'm a bit precious and don't like to think someone's going to abuse it. Cheers, norry.
  6. Cheers Jim, I'll give him a call.
  7. Hi Grant, Didn't see you bud! Were you in the scoob? Shame the bam that smashed my mirror wasn't as observant as you! Road manners in this country are sadly lacking. norry.
  8. Offside door mirror got smashed on way home from work tonight The mechanism still looks as if its working OK so I'm asuming I should just be able to replace the mirror part. Anyone replaced this on their car? It's not immediately obvious how to remove the old mirror, so if you have any tips it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I read somewhere recently that there's a guy in Paisley who sells spare parts for scoobs. Does anyone have his details and are his prices reasonable? Had a quick hunt on tinternet, but not coming up with much. Cheers, norry.
  9. Thanks guys. Was going to paint the bolts the last time I replaced them, but by the time I remembered it was too late! They seem to corrode at an amazing rate.
  10. The time has come again to replace the bulbs that illuminate the rear number plate.....oh joy! Last time, I had to drill the bolts out because they were so badly corroded. Unfortunately, they look the same again, so looks as if I'll have to get the drill out once more. Anyone got any good ideas about what types of bolts to use other than steel ones? Or good tips for avoiding this hassle in the future? Wasn't sure if it could be the fuse, but the owners manual doesn't show a separate fuse for these lights, so I dunno. Anyway, you're thoughts/tips would be appreciated. norry.
  11. Might take a wee drive up to watch. Is it still free to get in, for spectators?
  12. Cheers for the replies guys. Took the seats out last night, no bother at all. Grant, how's it going m8. I've been keeping quiet. Not been on any runs/meets recently to catch up, but I'll try and get along to something soon to check out your new wheels. And yes, that's my car. Working in Paisley now. You must have eyes like a hawk, spotting my car up there. (Sorry, hope that's not offensive to squirrels.) norry.
  13. Hoping to get new shocks fitted at the weekend by a mate who's a mechanic. He suggested that if I strip out the back parcel shelf/seats myself it could save a bit of time. Does anyone know what to remove to expose the top mounts for the rear shocks? Do I need to strip out the parcel shelf, or would removing the back seats allow access. (Tried posting in Technical, but no-one responded.......yet!) Cheers, norry.
  14. Glad to hear the trip was a success Chris. CTR + Scoob!!! Have you won the lottery m8? norry.
  15. Dougster, details can be found here m8: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/messageview.cfm?c...&threadid=30397 Not sure how to do a clicky. (I thought you already had a scoob. Wot happened to your wagon?)
  16. 'fraid so m8. Haven't tried advertising in the Autotrader yet, but I'll be trying to get it in there soon. norry.
  17. I'm probably going to have to pull out of this one I'm afraid, as the scoob is up for sale! The car is in the For Sale and Wanted Section if anyone's interested. I'll keep you posted. norry.
  18. Hi Colin, Not sure if you've received my PM or not m8. (I've tried responding to your PM, but not sure if you're getting it) Anyway, the car is still for sale and I'd be happy for you to come and take a look at it. Cheers, norry.
  19. Cheers Grant. Spoke to them earlier today. Got the car booked in for Thursday.
  20. The scoob is due an MOT in January (and a service). Does anyone know if I can get an MOT done at Greersport? I would be going there to get the service done anyway, just wondered if anyone knew about the MOT. If not, can anyone recommend somewhere else. I got it done at a well known dealership in Ayr last time and got charged an extra £10 for them to take it to another garage to have it tested!!! Thanks in advance. norry.

  22. I have recently renewed my policy with L&V who told me that they don't care about mods, unless you've fitted a bigger engine. The only mods I have are the sun-roof, the back box and a Bailey DV. After reading this thread, I spoke to L&V just to make sure I was OK and they simply said to take photos of the modifications so that in the event of any claims, I had proof that the mods existed. I even asked them to add a list of the modifications to the policy file, which I have checked with them since. Don't know what's going on with them, but they're better than Norwich Union Direct. Adrian Flux wouldn't even give me a quote!
  23. Used to use S&S. Pricing is ridiculous. Try Greersport, they're excellent, prices are good and THEY know what they're talking about.
  24. Fitted it! Sounds exactly the way I thought it would. Below 2.5 - 3K revs, virtually nothing, as expected. Beyond 3K revs and it sounds fantastic.
  25. Thanks guys. Fitting it on Saturday. Can't wait!
