Have started making enquiries but there are some issues that need some feedback please. Date - I would assume that a Saturday is best for most people and having regard to the diary that Dean scheduled out on the back of the newsletter, the earliest convenient date might be 27 May - yes, I know thats 3 months away but as far as I can see its about the first full weekend clear of other events. Means of travel - personally I prefer the shuttle, mainly because its quicker and not so likely to be affected by the weather although I accept the argument that the ferry crossing is all part of the day out. Costs - at this stage its not possible to book the ferry for a day trip more than 28 days in advance - if we were to be going in the next month the cost would be about £30 for a car and 2 adults. The shuttle can be booked in advance and is likely to be in the order of £49 per car, regardless of the no. of occupants. Where to go when we get there? St Omer is comfortably within an hours drive from Calais - there is a large town centre square for parking and plenty of cafes etc around the square. Montreuil-sur-mer , to the south, is slightly further away but can be a pleasant drive if you go down the coast - there are several nice little places along that coast road for eating - Wissant , Wimereux and if the weathers good we could stop at the beach[] Over to you. Could we please keep this thread purely for the France trip. Thank you.
