It must have been me that had the look of panic then, that mirror can be so deceptive. 500/500? I'm sure that I must be able to think up an excuse from somewhere as to why my figures are lower. Atmospheric Pressure? Dodgy Plugs? Come on Simon, help me out here.

500 HP along with 500+ LbFt is possible. Have to wait and see what happens when the plugs / solenoid etc... are put right. Took Simon out for a road test afterwards (in the wet). No concerns with Power or Torque, just need bigger brakes so that I can stop. I'm sure I saw a look of panic on Simon's face.

I was going to have anti-lag but changed my mind today. Not interested in launch control. Just want reliable power and torque for the track. Need to sort out the issues that prevented a flat out power run, so I suppose I should be happy that there is still a bit more to come.

Thanks to JGM who fitted a new SIMTEK at SRR today. Did a couple of Power Runs on old ECU to set the benchmark. 455 HP / 499 FtLb at 1.8 Bar Top figures from today's power runs whilst Jolly Green Monster set up the new SIMTEK. 471 HP / 499 FtLb at 1.7 Bar Need to reduce the plug gaps, fit an air intake temp sensor into the front mount intercooler pipework, and change the boost solenoid, currently peaking at 1.7 Bar and dropping straight off to 1.2 Bar. A bit late I know, but Deano 666 changed the oil and filter(including oil cooler & pipework), replaced the front brake pads, and torqued up the wheel nuts for me on Tuesday. THANKS DEANO

Had AP's fitted to the original RA, and they are still performing brilliantly. However, promised myself and the boss I would keep to a budget. Unfortunately the budget has long since been spent, and with the new SIMTEK being fitted next week, I must stop spending for England. The new car has only got standard 294mm discs at the front, and 290mm at the rear, so they do need changing. These ksport 8 pot fronts and 6 pot rears make good economic sense if they perform, and the car is a "Trackday Car" afterall. If you look at the Monkey Boy video in the trackday forum section, you will see how poor the brakes were performing. The car has enormous Power and Torque even at the low boost that I ran at Brands on 22 Feb, and I was still able to reach speeds upto 125 MPH down the straight, whilst braking about 50 Metres before everyone else. I cannot turn the boost up if I can't stop, and I so much want to see what the car can really do.

I wrecked my Standard Subaru Discs and Pads at Brands Hatch on 22 Feb, so am now looking for new front and rear discs and pads whilst retaining the original front 4 pots, and rear 2 pots. Have my eyes on a set of 294mm DBA 5000 Series Front Discs with Ferodo 2500 Pads or similar, I'm told DBA don't make a 5000 Series for the rears (290mm I think), but may have a good alternative. What ever I go for, must be more suitable for Trackdays than road use. Deano 666 is removing them next week to check the exact sizes and rear drum diameter, so want to get new ones on order next Friday. Would be grateful for some knowledgeable advice.
