  4. I do try and get round to speak to everyone It can be quite difficult when there is a big meet, so if I miss anyone I always try and make sure I make a point of speaking to them the next time
  5. 6. Welcome to KentScoobies, remember your never too old to have fun in a scooby
  7. Well if you need a project car to show off your engine rebuilding skills, I have a donor car sitting on my drive
  8. All I said is that it was nice to have everyone talking to each other with no clicky groups. This seems to have been misconstrued. It can be very intimidating to a new member to approach these groups, please remember we were all new once and had to introduce ourselves, and I still go through it every time I approach a new member to introduce myself and the club. Please if you see someone standing about looking lost make an effort to go and say hi and chat, or introduce them to someone else, this way there are no awkward moments and then the newbie will go away with a positive view of the club and want to come back. I agree it's nice to catch up with other members, but feel his should not come before making newbies feel welcome first, after all we do all want the club to continue gathering members. As for the feeling disloyal if you go to another meet, why should that be? In the past we have often gone along to other meets, usually en mass but other times just one or two - this is good for both clubs involved as it encourages members to talk outside their own little groups (hopefully ) It would be nice for KentScoobies to continue, but with all the bitching I honestly can't say how much longer there will be a club.
  9. Well that was one of the best meets I've been to in a long time:D Everybody talking to each other and no clicky groups, just how it should be
  10. There is a good site in Swanscombe, loads of potential and lots of parking
  11. Not been about for a while and only just caught up with this thread. Before I started using Xtreme, I used Waldonway religiously - that was until one of their test pilots decided to take it for a spin along the road while I was still in the reception, needless to say I was looking for a new garage pretty sharpish!!! Had a read on the forums and the names Scoobysport and Xtreme kept cropping up with good reports, so I thought I'd try Scoobysport first. I used them once, didn't go there again - nothing wrong with the service, just wasn't comfortable there lol and they were a bit on the expensive side. Then I thought I'd try Xtreme, and needless to say my car has never been anywhere else. I feel comfortable there, I get treated like a person not a pair of legs in a skirt and they have never missed a beat - and indeed Knowelsy on the last occassion I visited would not let me leave until they had replaced the cambelt, even though I didn't go in there for that. The old one was on the verge of snapping and he insisted on replacing it and even let me pay for it a couple of days later I don't think many other garages would have done that. I've recommended them to many people and of all those I have recommended only one was not happy, but it was nothing to do with Xtreme customer service. Another little story about Tony's car - I took it to Xtreme for him because he wanted an up pipe fitted, Tony got one from Ebay, but when they saw it they refused to fit it saying they didn't fit properly and it would blow, and would only put a scoobysport one on. He had me take the car to another garage (sold the pipe on) and got them to get a new pipe, needless to say when I got there and saw it was identical to the Ebay one I questioned it and was told yes it came off Ebay, said it was not a problem and they fit fine. It was fitted and is now blowing - the end is not a good enough fit even with the gasket, so Xtreme were right in refusing to fit the one I brought! Now Xtreme could have taken the money to fit it and let me go on my way, but they didn't. At the end of the day like everyone else they are only human, and mistakes can be made and from what I understand the matter has been resolved. I will keep recomending them as long as people are asking (Do I get shares now Knowelsy  )
  12. Hello and welcome I'll be at the next meet so if you make it I'll make sure I come and say hi
  13. If I decide to break my car, there will be lots of goodies that will fit very nicely onto your car, including 4 pots
  14. I have a set of 15's here you can borrow for as long as you like, but if you have 4 pots on the front they wont fit....
  15. September 17th is the official Birthday date
  16. I take mine to Beautiful Body Repairs, it's the only place I will let touch my car They aren't the cheapest but they do custom cars so they know what they are doing, and if your not happy with the job they will do it again until you are 01322 381868
  17. Sorry Stiggy, as you can see, a lot of people have cancelled their names off the list. Because of this I don't see the point in arranging this now, so it's been cancelled. As once again the day seems to have been a disaster, I don't think it's worth trying to arrange anything again, so if anyone wants to go to an event then they will have to sort out their own arrangements as I'm fed up of doing it all for people to cancel at the last minute.
  18. Can the people on this list please confirm if they are still going to come along? If it's bad weather as it has been the last couple of days it will be cancelled, likewise if no one confirms it will also be cancelled. 1. Pele 2. Scoots & Mrs Scoots 3. Big Jay & Mrs Big Jay 4. Granby (camping in the car lol) 5. BrianD & EmmaD 6. 7. col_2 confirmed 8. nathan and gemma 9. dazzler an family 10. The three D's (Dan, Daniela & Daisy) 11. Swifty 12. EN,Mrs EN and 2 skids 13. 19. On my '98 classic I had full decat, K&N indction kit, uprated fuel pump and pressure regulator and had a Power Engineering ECU and mine was making 291bhp and 289lbs/ft, this was a 'safe' map as I had a compression problem with one of the pistons (no.3 I think - fuelling?). I also had a bigger top mount from an sti6 and the solid alloy y-piece for it. I got most of the bits 2nd hand and came out of it with plenty of change from 2k, and even got flames without the need for a flamer kit
  20. Zak Tony was just adding a list of the respected tuners he had talked to and a generalisation that the bearings should be done, not making a referance to just your advice but all the advice in general He did not mean to misrepresent any information given Pele
  21. Ooohhh you bitch!!! Emoe, our friends who brought a car from a KS member had the same problem and just did the head gaskets themselves and the engine still wasn't running properly and kept stalling etc, when it was taken to a Scooby garage to check they were told the engine was F****** and that if they had done the bearings and bits while it was apart it would not have gone wrong again. If I have the engine done then it will be a full rebuild with strengthened internals as I fully intend to do track days in it this time And no it didn't have a hard life before this happened as I have only just started getting my confidence back after writing off my first scooby - plus anything over 70mph and I needed ear defenders all it did really was the school run and a few trips here and there.....
  22. Just glad I hadn't forked out for the major service lol
  23. Well went to start her up today and nothing Had a good look around and we have water coming out from the side of the engine and when I re checked oil it's deffo head gasket failure Not sure what to do now, a decent rebuild will cost around 2.5k, and I can probably pick up another classic for that, then again I don't have the money to do either However, if anyone would like to rebuild the engine for free, I won't mind in the slightest and will even supply tea and sandwiches
  24. Simtec ecu and anti lag
  25. The mats don't match the rest of the car
