Only issue may be the bit about running down stocks of Optimax to mix V Power in - may mean mixed batches or no Optimax in some places for a while. By October/November it should be switched over. I'll be able to use the lovely new Optimax V Power Diesel [] Brian []

I found this statement on another website: Statement: "Shell Optimax is to be replaced by V-Power very soon. The UK version of V-Power will be 99ron and not 100ron which is seen in other countries. All Shell Retailers have been invited to a launch day at the end of the month. Shell are in the process of running down stocks of Optimax to a level where V-Power can be mixed. I'm not sure when the official name change will be, but it will be a lengthy process to change all signage on sites, update all IT equipment and the Optimax signage on tankers will need to be removed or replaced. It will probably remain similarly priced to Optimax. Shell also plan to release V-Power Diesel in the UK, its a high performance diesel and the same which was used by Audi at Le-Mans."

Meguiars Quick Clay - around £10, comes with clay bar and detailing spray - done the Primera (black car) and the wife's Rav4 (silver). Great product easy to use and let's you do the next stage. Followed this up with a coat (or two) of Klasse/Carlack 68 AIO and then several coats of your favourite wax (used Meguiars NXT on the RAV4 and Poorboys Blue & Swissol on the Primera). Worth it. Black rubbers clean up no problem afterwards as long as you don't hammer them with sticky clay and you use a silicon cleaner of some kind to "do them up later". Well worth the effort - you can clay bar a car quickly in an hour - proper job on bad paint will take a couple of hours.
