  1. 20G gives a smaller powerband on a WRX (7K limiter) which is why it is ideally suited to an STI (+/- 8K limiter) but you WILL need additives to get 400BHP out of one. If your only after tracking or 1/4-miling the car then the 20G is a very good turbo when "on the boil" but it'll only be good on the road if someone who knows them inside out is mapping it (AndyF) VF34 will give around 350 with the same setup as for the 20G but you can get more than that with a set of tubular manifold as well (afair, about 370 is possible). Russell ps - edited as AndyF showed me my error.
  2. Crikey - with this many scoobs on my doorstep I'll never have to get a scoob out from Aberdeen again. There's enough business out here to keep me going! Russell
  3. FANNY! - go get them scrubbed in as Pater says and the trouble will be gone! Russell
  4. JC - if your still looking at the same type of car that we spoke about.....................................remember what I said about them. Post up some pics when it arrives, I've always liked these cars since they first came out! Russell
  5. Make sure you rotate the crank a couple of turns (clockwise) after all is fitted and then double check the timing marks as they can slip a tooth or 2. Remember that when you close up the pin on the tensioner and fit the lockpin...DO IT SLOWLY! It has hydraulic fluid in it and you dont want to damage the seal. If your fitting a new Tensioner then this has been done for you already. Russell
  6. Yes there is M8. Give Wilky or Fai17 a shout and they'll sort you out with the relevent details you need. I'd help you myself but I ain't at home and I'm useless at this tuning/building/servicing lark! Russell.
  7. That's true M8...and up until about 2 hours ago I would have agreed with you...................but things change so quickly that some times you are better looking after yourself. Cal knows what I mean...he's the last on a good running list. Russell
  8. That's why you bring it to me......................so I can bu99er it up for you. Cal - always happy to explain the things I do to your car so you can try it yourself the next time! Russell
  9. Your speaking to the wrong people!
  10. I use the Dayco belts on the usual 'standard' and "standard-ish" cars, but I use a kevlar belt on the "more than standard-ish" cars ie, mine and a few 2.5-converted Scoobs running round Aberdeen (1 P1 and 1 STI8). Highly recommended! Russell
  11. Best person for Autronic (unless AndyF does it) is Mark Shead of MA Developments, or Pat Hereborn. Russell
  12. HMM! - 18G would be a better choice for outright power but 34 is nice. Both turbo's will run bewtter on your car with the STi8 TMIC as the FMIC is overkill for either turbo., but you'd better saving for a new Gearbox as well! Russell
  13. 20G on a UK car is not a very driveable car in a day to day environment, you'll soon get sick of the small power band (unless your JC) For Crail it'll be great but if you fit it...........start saving for some repair and rebuilds. Russell
  14. Call Julian and see if he can help. That's the best thing to do! Russell ( in India)
  15. Cool M8 - no worries! Russell
  16. Parada Spec II's are great! Funnily enough, I have a set of 500-mile used ones in the garage ( took them off to put the R888's on!) and I'd only need 215 back for them? Any use to you? Russell
  17. Right - after trying to sort out a group buy several months back ( which involved me having to buy over 2K in tyres!) I have managed to sort out a pretty good deal on some of these awesome tyres. No need to talk about the R888's - they speak for themselves. The deal is all being done thanks to Julian @ Turriff Tyres (01888 562929) 215/45/17 GB - £480 225/45/17 GB - £535 Shipping to your home address or fitting of the tyres is extra but I can highly recommend Juian and the boys for fitting! these represent a 20% discount over retail prices and they have never damaged any of the sets of wheels I have put to them. Ideally we need about 4 sets of each for this price but the best thing is to call up Julian and register your interest. He'll get your details and once enough people are in, we can go ahead. Once again, thanks to Julian for helping to get this GB rolling. Russell
  18. Any of the above headers WILL REQUIRE A REMAP! H&S D/P are the dogs! - but I am biased as I suipply a lot of them to people! Same with "real" GT Spec II headers...........Good Prices too! Russell
  19. Hope your getting it electrostatically charged and then flocking it or are you just using one of the kits that FROSTS sell? They are CR@P so don't bother. Doug at SFS will sort you out with a good price to do your dash. £125 from when he last did mine! Russell
  20. It hasn't stopped me from putting my name down (provisional, no deposit until the official launch is 100% verified) for one! CAN'T WAIT
  21. Next time you see him, remind him that Downpipes aren't FREE and need to be paid for! Russell
  22. If the box is back then I might just be able to pop along to "run the new engine in"[] Russell
  23. As Marc stated - we've fitted the Defi's and done 6-month Oil changes on the car. Great machine and if the 2.35 wasn't in the RA......I'd have bought it! 21.5K a good price.........just got to fight the tempation! Russell
  24. Took a lot of haggling but I got itdown from the original figure by promising to take the Transport owners son (16 and a REAL petrolhead!) round the ring in a few cars. He'll be the passenger in the transporter. Needed to find 9 cars to fill the transporter to get the price.................so far I have 7 spaces filled (5 Scoobs, 2 Evo's, 1 M3), just need to find 1 more. PLENTY OF TIME TO FIND THE LUCKY ONE! Russell
  25. We (ABZ posse) are looking to do a run to the Ring in August. We've got some prices sorted for a transporter to take the car to the ring and bring them back (roughly £300 a car) so we can set them up for the Ring, run them and then come home. No fuel cost there and back (£300 in itself) PLUS if the worst happens, you don't have to figure out how to get the car home! Russell
