  1. Got to remember that the good old days seem to be gone now, not happy about it but us hardcore track day-ers still continue to go ( that was actually my 29th track day at Knockhill and my 74th track day in total) but I feel that a lot of the casual goers were not interested in this one due to the time of the year.... And the fact that there was still snow on and around the track on Thursday night.

I know I had fun as did Ali, can't wait for the next one!

  2. Are you running a sandwich plate Graeme?

I just don't want to try fitting in the block and end up damaging threads in block and need to strip out engine to fix.

I've fitted over 15 sets of defi's to Scoobs and NEVER stripped the threads on the Block when removing the blanking plug or refiting the Brass adaptor plug.

WORST CASE - you'll use a cheap Allen Key and round the hex hole on the blanking plug.................. then fit the sandwich plate.

TRUST ME - YOU'LL NOT HAVE AN ISSUE.

In fact - if you want to wait until I get home, bring the car to Ingleston on the 1st of July (we're having a sprint event there, your welcome to watch) and I'll loosen the blanking plug and fit the adaptor with the Oil sensor in there...... FOR NOTHING!!!!

    Would that help/inspire you?

  3. good good, doing what I really should be doing instead of adding horses!

Having had another look, I also recognise that knob! Wondered how himself managed to procure an original one so quickly!

I think your one came of a certain P1 ;)

  4. BHP developments WUZ on here he is based up Elgin direction

there is also an Aberdeen scoobies website

    http://aberdeenscoobies.invisionzone.com/index.php?

Ciaran............... I'm near Inverurie mate, how many times do I have to tell you......... LOL

    Walls, that is achievable.

I have a spare WRX ECU with an EcuTek licence on it that can be fitted and mapped to your car and immobiliser for 450. Service would be about 260. MOT and tyres however, would be a local thing (depends upon whereabout you are in Aberdeenshire, where are you?)

If you are near Inverurie (I'm a little nearer Pittodrie House hotel than Inverurie myself) then Jim King for MOT and Graeme @ Tawse Tyres can help.

Get yourself over onto Aberdeen Scoobies Forum for the more local gen.

  5. That patch in the middle of your hose is where a stainless steel metal retaining "t-piece" is placed. It keeps the Jubilee clips in a certain rotation so you can reach it with the screwdriver to fasten/loosen it.

It is meant to be there and be like that.

  6. Last I heard, JohnS sent out a bulk email to all of us currently signed up for the above event, informing us that if we didn't get any more entrants, they might have to cancel due to lack of numbers?

    Anybody heard anything else?

It would be a shame to have this happen, where are all the track monkeys these days????

Has the SIDC considered opening up the trackday to other forums (those "nasty" Evo boys, for example)? ;)

  7. Get the Wiseco Drop in pistons, leave the OE rods in there, they'll be fine for 500bhp.

Go for the Cosworth 280,000psi-rated Head studs and OE Steel Head Gaskets to handle the extra boost.

SC46 (Billet Wheel) would be a perfect turbo for the RB.

Bear in mind any more mods will require an uprated clutch and probablly a set of 650's AS A MINIMUM, if not a set of 740's for breathing room at the top end.

  8. Sounds like a plan to me Dale. Should be a pretty good discount on offer for such a large order! :)
