  1. nice to have a specialist as back up, but right or wrong i'm after keeping a full main dealer history for now. cheers anyway though guys
  2. and if they do how much discount do they give? i've got a cam belt service coming up and the brakes need doing aswell, so could be a few quid. i know it's not really the right reason to join a club just for a discount, but if it's cost effective i'm thinking why not? not sure i'll have the car come the next service so will the discount on this one bill be enough to cover the subs? cheers, Paul
  3. when you flashed, that guy in front of you had a real WTF? look on his face as he was coming towards me lol, it's only taken 10 years of driving a scooby to be 'officially spotted'
  4. spotted leebo along Ash Road, Hartley about an hour ago? damn fine looking car that, not really seen that many RB's in the flesh have i finally been spotted?
  5. that's not a good thing to hear it is what my mate has been hearing though, i thought these things would be bullet proof. thanks 20, that was the guy i was trying to think of, does he have contact details or is it best to PM him on here? Kentperformance, good to hear you know about these just googled your site, might well pop down today. thanks again guys, much appreciated
  6. my mate has got a pretty serious sounding problem with a seat alhambra 1.9 tdi (yep, it's a rocket ) he's being told he's got a blown turbo, but he's after a really non biased diagnosis of the problem as we're both not sure if the garage is totally on the level. if you know next to nowt about cars (like me) you'll know how much an honest opinion is appreciated, so does anyone know of any local people or garages that might be able to help? just after someone who knows what they're looking at to see if there's another issue that might be causing the turbo problem. cheers, Paul
  7. you're not alone, i think she's lovely i quite like her voice aswell, very good live
  8. that might have been me what car do you drive mate? saw a couple on friday
  9. they're taking a hammering to be honest, i think you'll get it for a chunk less than that. put it this way, if someone came to my front door and waved 12k in front of me they'd be driving off in a white sti
  10. as much as i hate myself for saying it, that's a bit overpriced (if it's a private sale) does look great though. have you had a look around pistonheads for something a bit nearer? i'm not sure of numbers of black ones around but i didn't think it was a rare colour? just thinking about saving you a long trip i had to travel to chorley to get mine (250 miles each way damn long day that one) but there was only 5 in the country at that time so it had to be done as for common probs, trevor has pretty much covered it. knocking struts is about it only other bit of advice i would give if you do get it and it's got the REO70 bridgestones on is take is easy if it's a cold damp day, they're not as grippy as they should be in those conditions. not dangerous, but these tyres are so good in the dry that it can catch you out this time of year.
  11. i'm sure it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference (and maybe you've done it on purpose) but shouldn't the callipers be the other way round? my nearside has the writing round the other way not trying to be an ar5e just surprised that you're not noticing a lot of difference over the subaru 2 pots, and wondered if it would make a difference being the other way round?? i noticed a big difference between the brembos and my old scooby 4 pots and that had ds2500's on. saying that, the braided lines on the sti really did make a difference though. maybe that's all it needs
  12. wow, what a great find! silly low mileage and a cracking spec i'd say your white one looked better, but i'm horribly biased
  13. rather pretty girl in a blue WRX turning into istead rise about 1/2 hour ago think it had a WRX300 spoiler, but didn't see if it was a 300 or not. got a wave
  14. or that guy in sexy beast. not ray winstone, the other one. the one that says the c word alot
  15. ' you've no idea how hard it is to pull this car by the foglight cover! ' is the guy in the pic the same bloke who organizes Glastonbury?
  16. balls, that's bloody miles away cheers for the info though, hopefully it won't come to it
  17. that's a shame, it started out there before they moved down the road and i think it was far too cramped for both sales and servicing. this looks like a bit of cost cutting, hope they're not in trouble, no idea where my next nearest dealer is! cheers for the heads up
  18. if you got the clearance go for it mate they are a bit high as standard aren't they!
  19. it all depends what works for you mate, but bear in mind that you've got to get around in the thing aswell as admire it looking low and mean slamming a car looks great but is a nightmare if you've got a splitter, live near crap potholed roads or speedhumps. i remember buying a very low car a few years back, got it home and found i couldn't get on the drive without grounding i've got prodrive springs on mine and it's a happy medium between a bit lower and a nice ride. infact it's better now than stock which was an unexpected bonus! i wouldn't want to go any lower as i've nibbled my carbon splitter already here's how mine looks hope that helps, Paul
  20. as mikkers says, it's a pretty long winded process! it's not going to make your car rust away in front of you but bear in mind it'll strip pretty much all wax/paint protection you have on the car, so personally i'd set aside a full day for claying then rewaxing i think the main purpose of claying is to get your paint back to a good starting point, so it's not a cleaner as such. saying that i do find it's a bit of a 'deep clean' for my car as the lube does get a bit dirty as i'm going along. the sealer i use doesn't seem to have any 'cut' to it so it's something i do about 3 times a year.
  21. there's a Holiday Inn down in wrotham (10 mins max from Brands) that is a 2 minute walk from a good chinese resturant called Mings, then there's a pretty big pub a couple of doors down from that. http://www.multimap.com/hotels/?title=Holi...c=GB|TN15%207RS if you're after a bit of a livlier night i'm not too sure what's around that area, sorry!
  22. tell him his flaps flap sounds odd but i've wondered how stiff these are in the wind. at 50+ mph (in a 50 ) they were tucked up under the car. very jealous of a clean white one, mines filthy
  23. white 05 sti going thru the roadworks on the A2 about 12.30 saturday, plate something like S00 BYU or similar nice to see a white one looking clean very shiney exhaust not too sure on the red mudflaps TBH, but a lovely clean car i would have waved but was in a super fast astra deisel
  24. will be tomorrow afternoon or saturday. cheers for the local info, even i should be able to find it!
  25. sounds perfect reads well on the site and guarenteed for 2 years should cover any 'fussy' issues
