  2. I really hope that's just a photoshop
  3. No worries mate, makes a change for me to be correct lol
  4. Habdbrake doesn't use the pads on the calipers, it uses the shoes inside the drum / centre of the disk, but can still suffer with condensation / damp causing them to stick Never use the hand brake on any of our cars while at home on drive or in garage
  5. No still operates in a drum internal to the rear disks
  6. Yep, common problem, always give ours a run round the block after washing, dry the brakes off before leaving to stand
  7. Running 330 / 340 in our 08 hatch, work done by Iain Litchfield of Litchfield imports, would also reccomend the suspension packages, only got the first stage on ours but makes a huge difference
  8. Excellent, not had stickers or tax disk holder for years
  9. Got ours done for the P1 here http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/ETCHED_LOOK_ALLOY_TAX_DISC_HOLDERS.html has P1 logo & build number
  10. Pic of ours, 128,000 on the clock, but still the best motor we've owned
  11. Hiya Kim Careful you'll be getting us moderated
  12. Pleased your sorted, definitly think white's the best colour
  13. We went for a Euro car, £1000 dearer that a standard UK STI, got the following in with the price, 18" BBS wheels (4k option in uk) push botton start keyless entry sat nav & Recaro's, note seating position superb for us now lower in the car than the previous new age cars, feels like a classic represented a lot better value we thought at the time Not sure of a definite way to tell the difference in models I'm afraid, good luck with your search
  14. Would have thought warranty should cover 3 years or 60,000 miles from new registration of car, sure a dealer will confirm, there is a dealer alteration to the map to try & stop the problem, but have read this doesn't work either Bought our hatch april 2008, 2.5 euro spec from Litchfields, now covered 42k no issues, much prefer it to drive to the WR1, has Litchfields stage 1 suspension package on it makes a great difference. Know the hatch is Marmite but very happy with ours, it's a great car for munching the miles, fun on backroads & good in the snow
  15. Excellent thread, at last an SIDC committee that sounds like it really wants to listen! Was a fully paid up SIDC member for approx 8 years & a forum moderator for several years, decided not to renew last year. The decision not to renew wasn’t taken lightly, it wasn’t about the membership fee, let’s face it it’s not a fortune compared to the price of V-Power is it? So why leave the club? As already mentioned there have been a lot of long term members and even whole regions leaving the club over the past couple of years. We were unhappy with the way the club was run, the committee repeatedly refused to have an AGM & the club seemed to be run like a dictatorship. If there was something the committee or certain people weren’t happy about certain threads were just deleted without even informing the people concerned etc. I felt certain committee members were using their positions to gain benefits at the expense of, or not pass on to other club members, something I complained about but despite many emails & promises of a phone call to discuss never happened. Ironically a former committee member has now admitted to this on a thread earlier this year, again no action taken. A few years ago there would be 20 or 30 page threads before Japfest Rally Day etc & many pictures afterwards, now it’s just 2 or 3 pages. WRC Germany this year was a PM only affair, not published on the main board, thread was 6 pages long, 1 page of that was used by the “trip organiser” to slag off other trips & admit he didn’t pass on tickets to other paying members of the club on a previous trip. For the record the 2008 Germany thread was 55 pages, kind of tells a story I think Find it quite ironic now the AGM has been forced certain ex committee members are not happy with the democratic vote, speaks volumes in my opinion, they were voted out for a reason, harsh as it sounds move on! We raised our concerns then left when we didn’t agree with the way the club was run. Made many good friends through SIDC, most of whom we continue to see on a regular basis. Just returned home from a weekend away with 12 more ex SIDC members, did the same last year with the money we would have normally spent on Scooby Ball. Living in Yorkshire were not biased North or South, we regularly travel hundreds of miles to shows & events. as far as we’re concerned there is no divide, we really don’t care where the club is run from as long as it is all fair & above board. Would like to wish the club all the best for the future & congratulate all appointed to run the SIDC. it’s a real shame the club was in such a state of decline before the AGM was forced. It’s going to be an uphill struggle, but with the commitment of the committee & input from the members lets hope the club can be saved. Will we rejoin? Well let’s give it a couple of months, see what happens, but providing the club looks to be run in a more professional manner than over the past couple of years & becomes” the members club” again, not a cliché or an extension to peoples ego’s then yep sure we’ll rejoin.
  16. Have you got the build number it's on a plate on the passenger strutt top under the bonnet, number you need is stamped into the plate, or may have a plaque in the centre console, if so the car must have been on P1 Owners Club as these were comissioned by the club May be also worth searching the garage on www.p1woc.co.uk with the same build number
  17. Happy birthday mate, have a good un
  18. The white car in the picture was the P1 Prototype, used for aerodynamic and other testing, also had several press pics taken with Dave Richards & Dave Lapworth, it was for sale a short while ago but the owner decided to keep it As for other colours, there was a P1 bought from new by a football player the spoiler replaced for a standard my2000 item and sprayed dark blue mica, so it didn't draw attention! Other than that they were all sonic blue Go to www.p1woc.co.uk and search for white P1, loads of info there, or even better join us at Prodrive later in the year to celebrate 10 years of the P1, Subaru's only official road going "supercar"
  19. Yes mate, all the same bulb, another thread here concerning the air con bulb, again the same bulb. sure you know this but you need the fan on for the aircon to work Another thread here, relavent info below, http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/showthread.p...ear+window+bulb Had this on my old my99 uk turbo it has the same switchgear as the P1 I changed the bulb and it was a pig of a job but can be done, from memory i took out the radio and its surround, unscrewed the heater control panel then you have to split it to gain access to aircon switch, I also changed the bulbs that wernt working in the heated rear window switch and other switches these have the same bulb as a/c switch You need to remove the radio, unscrew the handbrake surround and remove that, then up pop the gear gaiter cover (you don't need to take off the gear knob, you can just twist the gaiter round, and put the car into fourth), pull out the centre surround (you can't get it out without removing the handbrake and gear gaiter surrounds as the bottom wont come out), then remove the screws holding in the glove box, and knee roll on drivers side and pull those down, disconnecting wires and plugs... then unscrew all the retaining screws from the centre console (from insde where the radio would sit) which contains the aircon unit - and it should come out. You don't need to disconnect the switch gear which moves the various vents open and closed - the control unit will twist over if you're careful) - but you do have to take the surround out from in front of it as you can't just pull it down) - but easiest to unclip the wiring harness. Then the switch from the aircon can be pulled out from behind - there's a white plastic clip which you have to push down with a screw driver - and you can lever it out - make sure you don't drop the actual switch part (the bit you can see and push from sitting in the car (as it falls out like mine did - in to the centre!) The bulb holder is a green circular bit of plastic which you can unscrew and it has a small bulb in it - with a green plastic/rubber sheath (to give it the green colour...).
  20. Fog lamp, heated rear window, hazard switch should all light up with lights on, link below to bulbs needed, bit fidly to fit, need to take the switch apart to fix the heated rear window, just take your time, make sure you are on a clean table with glasses on if needed lol http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...ID=&doy=7m3 Link here to guide http://www.ladsoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.ph...5d86a6e6d477381
