Hey, Recently iv noticed that if i sit idling (say stop at traffic lights) my heaters will start blowing cold. Dont remember it always doing this, so is this a problems, if so how would i fix it/what part is broken? Actual water temp is stable, so dont think its the thermostat.

It hadnt had a full service but it had been looked over before. Ye it was the pipes above the petrol tank, so will be a bit more than you £100 just for labour time. Its a MY98 UK tubby wagon, guess there is nothing that you can do to help stuff like this? just try and catch it before it fails on you?

Had a bit of a scare, driving along into work, braking into juntion which turns down a huge hill (Constitution Road for the people that knwo Dundee) but im not slowing down...pedal hits the floor, cars still going!!! a quick handbrake stop later i was able to stop the car before i hit anything or started going down the hill. Eventualy got it into AWD after a total 2day screw up by RAC. and my brake pipes have corroded through, the one above the petrol tank so looks like ill be with out my car for a few days. But on the bright side i still have a car and it didnt fail on me at a much worse time! Lucky boy me

Ye its a very good idea, as you get all the tips aswell has how its ment to be done. On mr2oc they have a great section for almost anything, from maininance to complicated engine/ecu mods etc. If i had read this earlyer i wouls have taken pics of me changing my brake pads, which iv just finished.

I have also noticed this for alot of other stuff -98 and 98- so would be handy to know which i am [] My car: S reg, Impreza Turbo 2000 AWD, Date of 1st Reg. 29/09/1998 - from v5. Thanks

good questions Its a MY98 UK turbo wagon, the bulbs were just some H4 +50% xenon out my local parts shop. (its nice to see the top o f the trees when im on main beam though )
-
I fitted some new bulbs as the last ones were useless, but i have noticed that my light beam is way off, even with them fully down on the controle bitty. How do i go about fixing this? Cheers

Im waiting for winter, std wagons are prity boreing in anything apart from snow. Unless u plan on working on it as a summer show car, you have more fun driving it that looking at it.

I like the stickers - though i can see how they could look very nedish. Ye a spell checker would be good, i always use it on my bikers forum. As for a reply for you to use jonnyb80:

std 16" - whats the max width of tyre to get?
TheCrow replied to TheCrow's topic in Scottish Scoobies
na car isnt lowered. I was thinking about goin for a lower profile, but 16" lowprofile on std suspention just wont start to fill those arches. so is it 215/55/r16 that most are running? mind u just had a look online and at an extra £20 per corner i think i may just stick to 205. (thats for the f1's) Edit again: found the Toyo t1-r 225/40/r16 for a good price, would since the 225 is a % of the 40 mean that it would be the same width as the 215/55? i.e wouldnt rub? Thanks -
std 16" - whats the max width of tyre to get?
TheCrow replied to TheCrow's topic in Scottish Scoobies
true, though i dont really drive hard over the winter (apart from in snowy carparks ) so really just looking for sum rubber to get me through the winter, then i can have fun on them in the summer -
As Subject. Classic 98 wagon with std alloys, needing new rubber. What is the widest i can go? 205 is whats on just now, which seems far too thin for me. Can u get 225 on them?

what sort of miles do the scoobs get? (spirited driving, but not trackdays etc)
-
lol i get the same thing when u have old white astras kicking about in town. They should be done for impersonating normal people, or let us all go around pretending to be police
-
How they do in the wet? good for a winter tyre aswell? I need a new set soon, so would be very intrested if its a good price. Any update on time scale?
