Callum, I sell IT services for Computacenter. I know what margins we work with. If a guy from shell tells me they take 20p a litre then in my eyes, hes right until found out to be a bullshatter. I was filling up the deathstar this afternoon and noticed that they have raised the prices again. For a week or so, in order to take the heat of them, the government reduced the tax to allow cheaper prices in fuel. NOW.. they have put it back up now no one is looking !!!! i asked the manager what the deal was- "the government take 80p a litre of optimax, shell get 23p"im raging to the point where the boy that was once for queen and country is hatefully against the crown now i cannot stomach the fact that not only do i pay them an average of £700+ income tax, £3 tax for 20 fags, £120 council tax and 80p a litre of juice !!!!!!!! in case anyone wondered where the aid, support, G8 summits etc come from......out 20% max of the money they steel from us. th rest is hidden away I hate them **edited to mention that the price was 102.9p** FFS

Johnny as you say, its not designed to be a show and shine excercise really. its meant to be the scottish scoobies brigade going to the heart of scotland, having a wee run, then capturing the moment on camera/film show and shine is good for some occasions. TBH this isnt one of them. there wont be any prizes for the cleanest, best looking car. there will be a social meet at AWD, octance booster and other goods at good prices, an enjoyable run, a photoshoot, some lunch, use the meguires before it. even use it after if you want. who am i to comment?

i see the point. the point is this- as a business in a consumer market, regardless of whether they feel that they dominate that due to a limited number of competitors, she should still be commercially aware enough to understand that not returning peoples requests/calls may potentially have a detremental effect on their business. Further to this as they have done it to myself also, you can see an emerging trend appearing in their modus operandi. This im sure is not an isolated incident, and there are potentially numerous other members of the car enthusiasts market dissheartened by their approach. TBH theres going to be a serious issue with getting the cars cleaned after the journey up. A) i wouldnt fancy getting 50+scoobs into a jetwash in Glasgow never mind the back of beyond the cars will be slightly dirty, ie the skirts, wheels from brake dust, not much else though !! Another thought is that as there are so many cars, there wont be a close up, to fit them all in it will be a further away wide shot. hopefully this helps?
