As yous may or may not know that my project is near completion and i have to personally like to thank the ones that seriously helped me on my way.
I need to thank the following people for various reason.
Playsatan: Thanks for getting me much needed advice and source the parts needed from various good contacts. He is the man in the know and i'm really looking forward to going to Scooby Shootout 2008 with you.Ta
AlanG: Thanks for pointing me to use a EJ257 block and general good banter via PMs.......you have wealth of knowledge in the world of modifing the EJ257 blocks. You must have got fed up answering the questions that i have asked in the past.Cheers for the high praise on the workmanship from Greersport and Meercat.
Greersport: Bigs thanks for putting up with me and building me this wonderfull spec of an engine and of course for putting my car back in to running order.Bill does really look after his good customers for fitting stuff in last minute fashion.
Meercat: I couldn't thank Wullie enough as he made so many custom stuff from Headers to billet alloy brackets for the alternator support and polishing the new hard pipe work for the rotated manifold......he basically built the car upto this current spec in only 2 weeks for all the custom work.......he had to make equal length headers with slip joints,up pipe for the new roated turbo with slip joint,3 inch decat down pipe, waste gate pipe work,3 1/3inch system and backbox, new hard pipe for FMIC for the rotated turbo set up,brackets for the relocated header tank, new smaller expansion bottle, brackets for the pulley tensioner, bracket to support the alternator and probably other things that i've forgotten about.Cheers
Gordon Gray(G6RAY): Thanks for seriously helping out and fitting/rotating the red inlet manifold and fitting the inet manifold spacers and lots of other bits and bobs whilst the car was in Meercat. You are a true friend and hope your job really takes off when you go to start off your own buiness in the modifing scene.I could not reccomend Gordon enough and hope yous give him a shout for working on Scoobies.
DRB5: Thanks for selling me your near finished EJ257 block along with all the other bits and pieces.Cheers Dave.
And finally,
AndyF: Thanks for your execellent remapping skills and making it alot better to drive than my last ECU(GEMS)....he has also setup both the LAUNCH CONTROL and ANTILAG on my Auctronis ECU and i can't wait to give it a real try on Crail and various other 1/4 mile strip. From my own personally experience,AndyF is really GOD of Scooby mapping and you shouldn't look else where for mapping....A True Genius
Well i need to go to work now but will post up pics on my return.....
I'm back and here comes the picture......
On opening the bonnet, this is what your eyes are greeted with!
On closer inspection this is what you may see. Also look at the simple alloy plate to hold the header tank.
Plese note the new hard pipe work and the air temp sensor for the Autronics ECU.And also the pulley tensioner bracket.
Good size for a turbo!!! It's a Garrett GT3040.
The custom alloy bracket was machined from a solid block which holds the alternator in place. It took 5 hours to make!!
The new stainless steel expansion tank was made in 2 hours and uses the original lid.
The Areomotive FPR which i got from DRB5.
Views of the equal length headers.A real work of art in the flesh.
Up pipe/down pipe for the twisted turbo.
And finally this is what over 2 bar looks like.....life begins at 2bar!!!
Oh i forgot to say thanks to my wife Denise for putting up with my addiction and thanks to myself for working on my car which i thought i couldn't do.I've learnt so much on working on my own car but would not do it again in a hurry tho.I made up all the rubber hoses for water and more vacuum hose than i care to know. There is so just so many plumbing work in there that it's unreal!
Anyone want a hand to turn the red top manifold?
Now enjoy.....because i am
