  4. stop thinking about mods and get your car fixed
  5. You can't do that Grant....i've haven't smoked you yet
  6. If you have subru assistance you can get them to the nearest subaru garage for free....or If you have AA/RAC you get them to take it to the nearest dealer of your choice....
  7. So John have you taken your car to a garage to diagnois the problem... I spoke to Greers this morning and guess what they've just sold a hawkeye 5 speeder earlier in the week..they also said the hawkeye has different rear diff ratio to eveything else which means that you will either need to get hold of a haweye 5 speed box or another 5 speed box with matching rear diff. Or rebuild your own box. Either way they will need to look at your car first to see what is wrong with it. But probably your best(cheapest) bet is to try for a warranty thingy.
  8. Nice wee read up and i'm loving the new STI
  9. I've seen JB work before and they are very good... Plus they are in the local town and 5 mins walk from my shop. I need to get my car looked at when i get it back.
  10. Go on try me!!
  11. The lock thing that you are refering is to disable the lever and not the key...which means that you boot will only be opened by the correct key. Imagine a scenerio...you car window gets smashed by a theif and tries to open the boot with the lever but only to find out that the lever doesn't open the boot because it's locked...that's why Subaru put the option there in the boot so you have the choice. hope this help. failing that you will need to take the rear seats out by taking the 2 bolts of the bottom seat cushion then the 4 bolts for the rear back cushion.
  12. If it was a gearbox then AlanG suggestions is best as it takes the least amonut of time.
  13. Hi and welcome to SIDc....brilliant pics
  14. Really surprised to see your point of view about PPG vs 6 speeders.
  15. You could be right Stephen as it could be the wheel bearing has collasped(sp) and causing the knock and seizure.
  16. I doubt it's the box as it would vary with revs. More like the diff shaft or possible pads after the track. The pads would really need to be goosed to do that tho. Either i hope you get it sorted soon john.
