I'm BACK baby!! NOW WITH PICS!
steve_nairn_sti replied to steve_nairn_sti's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Cheers mate. Not sure where you may have seen the car before. Last owner was in Dingwall and before that was Perth I believe. Couple of niggles but will get sorted soon. Happy boy.....[] -
What a great time we had last night! Absolutely loved it and can't wait for the next one. Hopefully I'll be back on full boost by then eh??!! Got some handy advice and it was great to see such nice motors. Good to see the classics along too. Still love the overall look of them and great to see them looking in such excellent condition! I'll get some pics sorted out as soon as I can but a bit rushed at the moment! For those of you who never made it along this time - I'm afraid you missed a good night but judging by previous posts, you'll have ample opportunity to come to the next one and the next one and the next one!!![] Thanks to those who came along and made it such a good night. The sad news from last night is that the detour we had to follow at the end was due to a fatality on the main road. A 35 ton digger fell off the back of a low loader and killed the passenger of another car...[N]

I have an APS CAI in my MY03 and it certainly seems to do the job well! []

One last shout for any more takers tomorrow night! 7PM @ the Inverness retail park near the cinema.

ALL scooby owners are welcome at the meets and anywhere else we go I'm sure! I had a MY96 Sti 2 and have recently purchased a MY03 WRX. I agree with previous post. It makes no difference what age of car you are in. I'm certainly not up myself just because I've been fortunate enough to get hold of a newer model... I'll wave at anyone in a scooby and I always have, whether they're 18 or 80, driving a MY93 or a MY06!!

Cheers Gumball, much appreciated. So if I've understood your post correctly, the Lambda sensor can be moved or at a last resort, a further remap might be required. Is that correct? Where would you suggest mounting the Lambda? Sorry for my ignorance but I'm more into the driving experience than the technical knowhow jazz![:$] -
Bought my 52 plate WRX last week and the CEL was on at the time. Took it back down to the garage today and they took it round to scooby dealer in Perth. They managed to reset the CEL and explained that with the de-cat pipe, the added heat was roasting a sensor. (Heard all this second hand from the selling garage). Wasn't told what sensor it was but I do have information from an e-mail that went back and forth between them. Exact details in mail are as follows: "I managed to find out how to clear the EGT up pipe CEL light. I got a 0.5W, 2.2KOhm resistor from a TV repair shop and fitted it to the connector that goes to the engine management chip. I sealed it up to keep the water out and removed the sensor altogether. Just thought you might like to know for future reference" Sounds a bit dodgy to me. I don't want anything shady done to my pride and joy! I'd like to know if the above information is correct, advisable and whether there are any alternatives. Can anyone help me out? Can you explain in lehmans terms what needs to be done and how much it's likely to cost please? Much appreicated all.

I can second that, Liam at Glenburgie is very knowledgeable and they provide both new and second hand parts I'm sure. Got my last scooby sorted out by them and my new one will be going to them too. [Y] -

That polished bliss site is quality! Know where I'm spending a lot of my next pay cheque now!!! -
Well if you're getting out the polish, I suppose I'd better too! Don't want to be shown up now do I?? []
-
Welcome fella. You're going to love it!
-
Alright gents? Post is now in the events section. Try your best to drum up some interest with anyone else who might be keen. What about you Rossco and A11YKF? Will you boys be about and interested in coming along to show off your steeds???
-
FINALLY got myself a new motor today... 52 plate WRX with a few nice wee trick mods. Forgot just how nice the flat 4 rumble was! Pics to follow when I can pull myself away from the drivers seat long enough![] It's good to be back folks. Now where will I start with the modifying??[] Give us a wave if you see us about.
-
Count me in whenever this is arranged people. Will be nice to meet you all. Guys, try your hardest to come along and make this a success. Would be nice to have a regular meet up here!
-
We looked into the possibility of starting a regular meet in the area a couple of years back and despite the fact that there were quite a few members from here posting, there wasn't really any interest in a regular meet. Shame really because like you say, there are certainly quite a few around this neck of the woods.

O/T Whats the temperture in Your area
steve_nairn_sti replied to STi_Bandit's topic in Scottish Scoobies
In Nairn yesterday it was high twenties. Unfortunately though I'm West of Shetland at the moment where we get to hit staggering highs of approx 10 degrees! Fan-forking-tastic!! -
Alright Ally? How's it going fella? Your motor's looking sweet with the new spoiler like... Love the note that comes off it with that zorst too! You will know Ross - He's a cheeky little fecker! - Did you manage to find a motor yet Ross or you still got the G60?

Copied the following from a mail I received a couple of weeks ago. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil>companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down isif we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit
