Dave (Scooby222) has been announced as the newly created Highland Regional Organiser. I hope you'll all join me in congratulating him. I wish you every success mate. Let's try and get some inter-regional challenges on the go! You'll make a worthy leader. Can I suggest that you invest in some Sat Nav equipment though!? [][] See you at the next meet bud.

Haven't heard anything from Gee or Jason but I remember Rossi saying that he was offshore for three weeks. Should be around about the time of the meet though so I hope he can make it along. Once again, congrats on the RO position mate. As you'll be aware from the other thread, I wanted to put your name forward to Phil. If I/we can do anything to help you out mate then just let us know. Drinks on you for the next meet then eh??[]

I've been watching these threads for the past few days with great interest. You're obviously held in very high regard Russell. Living up North, I've been wondering who I can see to keep my motor ticking over nicely. There's very few people I would trust to work on the car and in particular, there's nobody even remotely close to home. I'm sure it won't be long before I'm on the phone asking for your assistance! My mind is now at rest that there's a professional, friendly and knowledgeable gent to let look after my baby! Good man![]
-
Russell, do you have a website? Want to contact you about some parts but offshore at the moment so can't give you a call. Was going to have a butchers at your website in the meantime if you've got one.

When you guys talk about side stepping the clutch I presume you mean exactly that....just let the clutch ping. Do you take it near the bite first or do you have it fully disengaged? Tried it in my last scoob twice and then replaced the clutch a week later! Not too keen on trying it in the new one.

It does indeed looks sheeeeet hot Craig. What method did you use to get rid? Thread behind them to get them off? Looking to de-badge the hundred or so[] (Okay, more like six) on my tailgate but worried about the paint. ***Edited to try and explain myself a bit better*** -
Yeah, something tells me that not too many people will post up their full spec Phil! []

I see. Makes sense to wear the original discs fully I suppose then. Mine's four years old and I think it might still be running the original discs, hence the need to change! I've just dropped Alyn at asperformance a mail so I'll see what he recommends.
-
Discs are getting a lip on them now and they feel like they're well past their best. Surprised to hear that you're running standard discs with those power figures though Craig![]
-
Looks like that's pads sorted then...... What about discs? Have heard to stay away from Black Diamond and the like. Any other useful advice?
-
Alright folks? Am looking for your opinions/experiences with brakes and pads. I can't afford to go for a brake conversion (Due to the Mrs wanting a new kitchen!) so am trying to suss out what other people would recommend on standard calipers. What are you running and how well would you rate them?[] Cheers, Steve

Where to buy discs and pads on the net

Thanks gents, Anyone else? -
Any ideas folks? Looking for suppliers and suggestions of discs and pads to go for. Running a 52 plate WRX but it's putting out nearly 330bhp so need some decent stoppers. Don't want to go for a brake conversion though. Haven't quite got the pennies for it. Thanks in advance.[]

Doubt I'll be able to ake the next one gents. Only going to have two weeks off in the next ten or so the way things are going! Will def try and make the next if I can though...[]

PMSL. No excuses for being stuck at the back now mate!!.... Except my brakes are getting a bit past it![] I could be an F1 driver with my list of excuses! CEL is all sorted now and we enjoyed a spirited ride up the road today. Need to get onto the insurance company and let them know about Andy's findings[]
-
Just come back from a trip to Andy F. I'm no mechanic at the best of times but I do like my cars. Bought my 52 plate WRX a couple of months ago knowing of a couple of little "tweaks" like a CAI, a decat pipe and an Ecutek remap. (Turned out to be done by the good man himself) Anyway, when Andy had a look, he discovered that I have a TD05 18g turbo, STi injectors and free flowing tubular exhaust manifold thingies. This all results in a power output of 327bhp and 302lb/ft torque at 1.4bar boost. Have a dual boost map and is also capable of going to 1.6bar!!!!! (maybe later[]) To say I am forking delighted is an understatement![][] HUGE thanks to Andy for his sheet hot worksmanship. Great guy. Anyone wanna buy it??????[] Roll on the next meet fellas![]
-
Agreed wirth Scooby222. Also, I feel that we might need to have two groups in future. One with Fast drivers and one with slower drivers. I'm not being funny but I'm pretty much on the limits with you guys and have had a couple of close ones. (Not afraid to admit it either). Might have to slow down a bit for the next one....
-
Yeah, it was the driver of the TNT van that died. So young....[] My ex-colleagues at the fire brigade had to attend this one. I feel for them too in circumstances like this. Any fatality involving an HGV is likely to be a nasty nasty sight. Heart goes out to the lads family too. As you said Dale, that's both nights we've (regrettably) had to deal with some bad news. Hope this serves as a reminder that the roads can be a dangerous place to be and not necessarily due to our own actions.
-
[] Good to meet you mate. What a fright I got when you came up out of nowhere on the way home![]
-
Welcome mate. As has already been said, we're just starting the meets going. Last one was a blast and we had a really good turnout. Hope you can make it along to the next one. Laters.
-
Great night guys. Thanks to everyone for coming along despite the crap weather. Good to see some new faces. Hope we can keep building on the numbers!! Ross - Your RB5 is well mint mate. Dale - FFS what can I say?? Good show! Euan - Top man for coming such a long way to make an appearance. Nice to meet you. One of the reasons I neaver had anything to meet wa that the establishment we frequented was recently closed down due to finding dead seagulls in their freezers. Mind you - If you're hungry, you're hungry!! Hope those campers have forgiven me!!!![:$][:$] Top route. Really looking forward to the next one!!![]

I'm booked in on the afternoon of the 25th. Can't wait!! []
