Cheers Pele, hope to have it back by then so I can at least come for the drive.
HOL, It was a completely standard car, first uk owner, 1998 R with 47K miles and all the jap history, Seemed like a really good car, very clean, and great fun to drive.
They even fit all their cars with a motorsport oil pump from Roger Clark Motorsport, to stop this from happening, I guess I was just really unlucky.
All being sorted under warranty, so should have her back by weekend.
Not really the way to start with a new car by running it in but what else can I do?
See you all soon.
-
HOL why dont you swap with me (if thats ok) as I managed to do another engine, not my fault though. So even if I have the car by Saturday I wont be running it.
I got my Type R, drove approx 140 miles (carefully, very different to the wrx) and it seems big ends again, so its back to SVA for a repair job, not what you want the same day that you shell out £12495.00 Ouch.
-
So do I, im gutted maybe im jinxed when it comes to Subaru's, Fiesta Popular plus 1.0 anyone?
Hopefully ill get it back A.S.A.P but its again looking unlikely I will be on the Rollers on Saturday, if I get the car back by then ill still be coming but as a spectator, so if anyone wants my place its yours.
Ps Cheers for last night Tony, I really appreciate your help.

I was tempted to put down first but I wanna see how its done before I go, wimp or what?

Sounds good M8, I wanna use one of the photos I took as my profile shot but it is too big so looks like I,ll have to re work them first.
When I took it out for a test drive I was more than happy with the grunt ( still got the smile on my face)
But he did have sitting alongside it a 22B, if only £25k had dropped from the sky...
-
Cheers Lee, I look forward to seeing you all there.
-
Hey Hey good news Im back on track for the day, it was looking likely I was gonna have to pull out due to no car, but as if by magic (and a little pleading) money appeared in my account and I take delivery on saturday 8th May of my 1998 Sti Type R, So it will be nice to see what the true figure is on the 15th.
-
Cheers M8
I have put it up for sale on the forum and getting a little interest, so fingers crossed.
I have just seen another one 1998 S V5 Black, not sure on mileage yet but up for £9995 at a dealer.
Sounds good, Im hoping to go see it soon
-
Wow the car looks great......
-
What do you think on the price? Seems a little more realistic, I just dont wanna rush into anything
-
Hi Pele
The photos look great, im gutted i never made it, and at this rate the RR day is looking doubtful, if I get my Type R by then ill give that a go on there but its a lot of buts.
Give me a couple more days but if I know no more I will take myseld off the list
-
That would be cool, cheers.
I have seen one for sale in Yorkshire which seems a little too cheap.
1997 P, 36000miles, sonic blue all the usual spec £8995.
I know it means a trip to Yorkshire but it may be worth it for the amount I will save plus I may have enough to repair mine and get more for it.
-
Hi Hol, sorry I only just got your message, it has sold now but cheers for keeping an eye out for me.
I think I might just get rid of the car as it is rather than go through the hassle when I know I will sell it straight away.
I will have my £10k in a week, that and my car I should do alright.
I have put mine on the for sale section to see what people think
-
Hey Pele, What do you think I should do?
Im not convinced that repairing mine is such a good idea, but it is the cheapest.
I still think I deserve being behind the wheel of an immaculate Type R?
It is looking very iffy for me to keep my place on the RR day, but hopefully I will have something else to bring along...
Dont worry I guarantee it will be a quality mota, well it will be a Scooby of some description....
-
Whoops sorry Redraw welcome on board, dont push your car to its limits , you never know when it is gonna bite you in the arse.
Sorry Mate
Signed - A bitter Scooby owner, hopefully soon to change....
Once I am sorted, Hope to see you at the meets mate
-
Ah you disappoint me Tony, I thought you would bite on that and defend your steed?
Although tobe fair it is pretty damn nice, even if you did buy a bug eye???????????
Come on even you r gonna wanna bite on that.
You know the worst thing? It is looking very very likely I cant do a run on the RR day, I really wanted to see what she could do, oh well, Ill just have to keep hunting.
I will PM HOL and see what he says, it is it really a good-un?
Chit Chat....
