thanks for your replies guys....bit the bullet and bought one!!! got a sept '00 in blue mica (deep or dark, i cant remember) and will be able to legit drive it on 30th this month due to having to wait for insurance. nice 40000 mile example that has been serviced every 7.5k or less on the button. will keep it like that, though may do own oil changes etc and get a RCM service once a year going on time as opposed to miles. its already had the cambelt done 5k ago...so look forward to driving it in the none too distant future.

noted and will take extra special care if i do attempt doing the oil change myself. have done it on plenty of other cars, think the special layout of the subaru boxer engine scares a few folk off. if i am gonna be changing the oil every 5k or so then i think i should do it myself and make sure it gets a RCM big service once a year or every 10 months or so.

two things really....is there a Haynes or similar for the classic impreza? and is it a reasonably straightforward job to change oil and filter yourself? ta.

would put a pic up but each time i try to upload it says the file size is too big...done three times now and given up. i bought it today but not getting till next week...and it's mica blue but looked a lot lighter in the photo in the advert which is why i couldnt get a handle on which blue it was.

um...i thought reddish blue but according to that paint chart that was linked here, thats too old a colour. cant tell you the code as its a car i am looking at tomorrow...doesnt look like a dark colour and if it was sonic blue i would have thought the ad would have said as much as its an enthusiast that is selling it. hope it is sonic blue though! thanks for the brochure link.

Sept 2000 X reg classic turbo...blue...know of blue mica, sonic blue....what else was there that year? any more blues? while i am on the subject...does anyone know where a subaru impreza turbo brochure can either be purchased or downloaded from that last year of the classics please?
