About Chris_

  1. Is fact stranger than fiction or just a coincidence? Trawling through a large database of photo's, I came across this old photo of a car outside Eynsham Hall. For those of you that stayed at Eynsham Hall you will remember this car on Sunday morning .............. could it be the same one!!! transporting a bride some 80 years ago???
  2. Not any more, Granby. After many years of being somewhat baron in the upstairs department, Pete's birthday wish has finally come true. A new cover for his helmet!!!!!
  3. Does anyone know of a good dianostics garage near Camberley, Surrey. I would normally go to Zen but because the car is knocking heavily I dont want to risk the journey up there.
  4. (Edited for Time change to 6:30pm) For all of you living around the Camberley, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Sandhurst, Bagshot area, I need about an hour of your time around 6:30 this Friday the 6th <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> My lad has asked that he would, instead of a limo to take him to his school prom, have a load of scoobies turn up. This our chance to show off the motors in front of a very admiring audience and then a photo shoot done by yours truly, for which I will let you have the high resolution originals free of charge. There are a few of us going already and it would be great to add a few more so let me know as it would make his day.
  5. I Like them but then I'm bias.
  6. Welcome to the forums. By the way, Red is the fastest colour.
  7. James, this could be one of a number of reasons: 1 Have you tried to flash your BIOS recently 2 Check the battery on the mother board is not dying 3 you may have a virus. Do a sweep
  8. Photoshop elements can be got for about £50.00 if you shop around and is basically a cut down version of Photoshop. Try Amazon there are normally very good deals on there.
  9. Good to see your still practising your photoshop skills, nice one. Have you looked in my SOX garage lately? As 4hero says, G1mp is very good for a free package although I think the novice would find it hard to work with. I have been using Photoshop for about 10 years or so and use G1mp to compliment it. Craigy, Photoshop CS3 can be got for about £500.00 but you might try Paint Shop Pro which a lot cheaper but will still give you most of the effects layering and compositing that you might need.
  10. Caz is correct, checking an alternative source, your engine code would have to be GC8C47D for a 95 STi RA Your transmission codes also relate to a 93 WRX RA as does the engine type. I think its time to speak to the seller!!!
  11. The Z5 ecu was for the RA, however, if you are going to purchase a replacement ecu consider getting an after market one like the Apexi or similar as the Z5's are not programmable. Dont worry about the turbo yet as they are good for about 350 bhp, spend your money on something like injectors, fuel pump, lightened flywheel etc.
  12. I think that there is no noticable difference between the, so called, high grade fuels. Some of them do have cleaning additives but there is a placebo effect that if you have a powerful fuel, you will go faster or run better Having said this, if your car has been mapped for a high octane fuel (and I would suspect that it has) you should not put any lower octane fuel in it. I would not suspect the induction to make that noise on deceleration as there would be no need for it to draw excessive amounts of air.
  13. Dad, I said I didn't want "Sheepy Boy" I wanted "Monkey Boy" ................ Have you got him ???
