Just wait and see boyo. I'll be no more impressed by your apologies than I am by your boasts! Hee hee. I think I might have to invest in a dB meter for when the phoenix arises from the ashes, for the tenner or so you can get them for I think much amusement could be had!

Ha ha. Enjoy having the title while you can my friend, for once the Rover fires up again I'll be taking it off you. I can almost see a little wager possibility here.......
-
Dudes! Was it a sweet night? Good to catch up with y'all, albeit briefly!
-
I'll track him down either way! Most likely will come to outback for a few pints but it'll be an early and fairly sober night for me on account of tomorrow's sickeningly early start! Big Dave will wonder what's wrong with me if he sees me walk out of the Outback in a straight line!
-
So where's tonight's schedule? I don't want to miss everyone like last time simply because I couldn't find where people were! That's if I'm welcome of course.....
-
If you thought it was scary when you heard it then you're all in for a surprise as that was when it had the relatively quiet 2.5" restrictive, tame-ass, pansey boy backbox on it. No-one has heard the new one yet, or rather they might have done but the only time I dared fire it up was during a severe thunderstorm! Bung that!

<< I got a B in Maths, an A in english, A C in french and an E in the Venue PMSL >> Ha ha! Quality!! Bah, I'd quite like to go to that now but there's no way it'll be happening unfortunately.
-
Many roofles! Type R(over) The original Street sleeper!
-
Shouldn't that be "and DEN I'll challenge you!" Oh ye of little faith.
-
Tchoh! Just you wait sunshine.... "And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth when you see the Rover, and Jim the prophet in the driving seat and you yourselves cast out for not being loud enough." Here endeth the lesson.
-
Shake it all about!
-
Dudes that's just super sweet! Was hoping so.
-
10 More pages? So do you dudes want some, like, reinforcements then? The more the merrier. Sweet!

<< HAS IT CRET >> Surely has matey. Tell you what, if you want you can buy it off me as I'm sure you'd like it as a project. £15K and it's yours. Only condition of sale is that you must never, ever open the bonnet for a look. Because it's an ex military engine y'see. Top secret & all that.
-
I hope this thing leaves our lovely shores asap. I just feel sorry for whoever buys it (if anyone is daft enough to). It looks like something Stephen King would invent to scare children at bedtime. Good riddance to the minging, 'maxxed out' 300BHP*, picnic tabled bavarian nail. *Yeah, and my car has a jet engine from a harrier in it.

<< Bungs are for batty boys. >> HA HA!!! Priceless mate! Part time noise makers. I'm confident in the 'sound' ability of my system, just need a working engine to prove its might. Still, it won't be a patch on the few days I had to run it with only the afterburner downpipe attached & no other exhaust bits. THAT was loud. I think I scared a few seismologists at that point.
-
Just you boys wait until the Rover has been resurrected. The straight through system is armed & fully operational, so as soon as the engine is as well I'll be setting free a lot of captivated decibels. And there's no bung.
-
HOPEFULLY, I'll be able to make it out for a few pints tomorrow evening. I can't have many as I've to be at the Wild life park for 8am ish on saturday, and have got pre rally stuff straight after work but that does leave space for a few in between. What's the agenda?
-
Apologies for the hijack Richard! I'm not able to make it I'm afraid as I have the delights of my niece's first birthday party with my family.

<< CustomEnginePimpIOM has spoken! >> Ha ha! Like it! Well first query about wrx/sti engine to RS gearbox is the number of bolts holding them together? The aussie RS boys say they have 4 bolts but seem to think some later impreza ones use 8. A mechanic mate of mine says the impreza ones he's done only have 4 bolts between engine & box but maybe that's only up to a certain year? Anyone happen to know?
-
Oh fear yee not matey! I love the old rover despite it betraying me after I've lavished it with toys & tlc (Cough!) for the last 3 years. It'll be back, just not sure exactly when yet..... Your engine offer is very tempting though. How much info do you have about those short engines, ie about difference to the EJ20 for bits to attach to etc?
-
Damn, I could just about stretch to that at a real push. I suppose I'd still have to redo my top ends if they are knackered but I would have a beast of a powerplant then..... I'll have a serious think about that Jon. All the more reason for me to get my arse in gear & find out if my motor is actually dead or just stunned!
-
What feeble excuses?! I'd be well up for it as I've not seen the Muppety one for yonks let alone had a session with everyone. I'm good cheers Jon, just looking forward to getting the Rover (as opposed to the range rover) back on the road again whenever it'll be. Was going to do the cambelt yesterday but didn't have enough time after replacing all the springs & shocks on the rangie. Am determined to get it done before the end of the week, if only so I can begin removing stuff from the engine bay... Might do a drive by past SCP and have a gander at the yellow peril.
-
Probably would if I had enough dosh.

Sorry chaps but I can't either Friday or Saturday. It would have been nice to after not being able to track down the previous Saturday night out with you all, but I've to be up about 7am on Saturday as I'm doing service crew for a mate in the rally all saturday, and have already got a do arranged for Saturday night. Aside from that I don't have 2 pennies to rub together until next wednesday. But then it is bonus month meaning I should have about a grand extra to burn on something (probably valves & a top end rebuild kit )
