  1. Sorry don its not in the rules that 2 people in the same household cant post on the same forum

No doubt it soon will be now....................

I post from 3g as well so its the network cartiers ip address

As I seem to be the butt of most of the jokes I don't think there has been any harm done and if anything it has been entertaining reading and I found myself in stitches reading the latest posts on the train home today. We all need a bit of light hearted humour now and again.Hats off to both of you for the laughs.Chris

No, having two accounts is not against the forum rules. However I find it difficult to understand why a paid member would have the need for two accounts.

I have been monitoring the posts made by Scott and specdogger since Sunday evening. I even have evidence that the account of specdogger was created by the same i.p address as Scott's.

We also know that he's not the only person from the region to set up a second account and introduce them self as a newbie before replying to them self.

Chris, you know full well it's not two people. Whilst you might find it amusing, the rules apply equally across the club. You yourself have been one actively calling for openness and consistency across the club, regardless of region. Being an RO, you surely cannot condone spamming and trolling of the forums - unless of course, you wish to release yourself of your role?

Without wishing to single out particular members of the Glasgow region, evidence states that recent activity can be seen as trolling of the forums which IS against the forum rules. As a general point, any such behaviour going forward from ANY member from ANY region across the club will result in an immediate removal of posting ability.

This is the first and final warning I am going to give. If you do not like it here then I suggest you go elsewhere. This club is for all members of all nationalities, not the reserve of a few and I ask that you respect other members and I ask that you respect the rules as they stand.

If you do not abide by the rules set by the club then I suggest you leave now and resign your membership.

I hope that this is the end of the matter and we can move forward.

    Kim

  2. Thanks Kim.

Maybe worth putting this somewhere so people know what to do in future and will hopefully make life a bit easier for the committee members.

I forgot to mention thread pinning and complaints. Would thread pinning go to membership email address or pm to a moderator? Would complaints go to membership@sidc.co.uk? Not that I would expect anyone to have to use it.

    Cheers

    Chris

All contact info is here: http://www.sidc.co.uk/?page_id=77

Complaints depend on the nature. If it's membership related then membership@sidc.co.uk is the one to use, if it's shop order related then it's shop@sidc.co.uk

Any other complaints can be sent to either kim@sidc.co.uk or enquiries@sidc.co.uk

As for pinning of topics, where did you request this?

  3. Just to clarify Kim,

-Support tickets get raised for any technical membership or forum related problems

    - any suggestions or questions regarding club or forum should be sent to membership@sidc.co.uk

    - anything to do with advertising goes to rachel@sidc.co.uk

    - anything to do with truegrip articles goes to matty@sidc.co.uk

I have probably missed something out.

    Chris

    Almost Chris -

    Advertising goes to advertising@sidc.co.uk

TG related items go to the Editor. TrueGrip@sidc.co.uk

    :)

  4. hey kim . I havnt been near a laptop to raise the support ticket yet. Once i get to one i shall. Its not a big issue about my badge as i didnt even know my badhmge was showing as i use my phone to access the site mainly. it was just i noticed i still cldnt access the members area thats all. Not in any rush yet as theres not much that goes up in the members area and i dont frequent it that often. Only noticed i couldnt access it when i clicked a link on fb and it said it was restricted . So just thought id fire the post up stating as such.

thanks for the feed back and response here though.

Should get to a lappy in the next day or so.

    Your problem is already fixed.

I suspect Don may have done this for you ;)

  5. The membership control panel (where you renew your membership and update your personal details) has overall control of the forums. RO, Moderator, Committee, Supporter badges are applied from the forums. Should anything be changed in the membership panel by either admin or the user then any changes made like RO badges are then removed.

Chris made changes, which he advised was amending his email address. This has resulted in the RO badge being removed by the system, the membership system does not know he's an RO - it only knows that he's a paid member of the club. It's not a glitch of the website or forums, the membership control panel is merely doing what it is programmed to do. It's just a case that the RO rights need to be re-applied to Chris' profile.

I also understand Pablo's membership status didn't update when he renewed his membership. In the event that a membership is allowed to expire, the system is supposed to know that upon renewing, his status needs to be changed to "member". This isn't happening as the software is out-of-date so it's a manual process. In the event that a member renews before his/her expiry date, this is classed as a future payment so no disruption will occur.

No support tickets have been raised for either Chris' or Paul's problem and therefore weren't dealt with. All support tickets raised recently have been answered or dealt with.

In future please do not rely on pms as I don't have notifications turned on to be notified of pms etc and I'd been away from the forums for a week or so which meant they weren't dealt with.

    :)

  6. Just wondering if there are any plans to have a club stand there this year?

I don't mind contacting knockhill to see if we can have one if someone can give me the details or if it has alread been done then great.

    Thanks

    Chris

Not an awful lot of info on their website.

I suspect their booking deadline would be coming up pretty soon. Having read their website, they state more details to following, no booking information has been listed.

If a club stand is to be booked then you need to get a shimmy on and get ticket information in the club shop.

  7. The service will be held on Thursday 16th May at 1:30 pm at St Nicholas Church, Hardenhuish Lane, Chippenham, SN14 6HP

For those attending the service refreshments will be available afterwards at the Wellesley Arms, Sutton Benger, SN15 4RD.

Sharon has requested family flowers only but has asked if any donations can be sent to the hospice that looked after Kev which was Dorothy house hospice.

    Many thanks

    Kim

  8. PM's are not archived anywhere on the system.

Once they're deleted from your inbox they are gone. Although if the other party still has the pm conversation then you can obtain the info from them.

Hotmail/Outlook have changed their settings recently so emails from both the forum and membership database have been directed to the junk folders.

  9. In preparation for Japfest on Saturday I felt the Scoob was in need of a jolly good clean.

A good wash was how it all started with Dodo Juice's Born To Be Mild pH-Neutral Car Shampoo using "Clean Your Car's" Microfibre Wash Sponge followed by a rinse.

I then gave her a good clean down with Autoglym's Intensive Tar Remover using a soft cotton cloth to get rid of that stubborn tar that wouldn't be removed through washing or claying alone.

Another rinse followed the tar removal leading onto a full clay bar treatment using the Meguiars Clay Bar Kit.

A final wash with Autoglym's Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner was then carried out.

A soft blade was used to remove a large majority of the water, I then used a Meguiars Water Magnet to remove the remainder from the bodywork.

A layer of Werkstat's Prime Acrylic was then applied to the bodywork, buffed off to be followed by Autoglym's HD Wax. To finish off the bodywork a coat of Werkstat's Acrylic Gloss was applied.

The black trims around the windows and doors were given a good coat of Autoglym's Bumper and Trim Gel.

The windows were then given a good clean with Autoglym's Car Glass Polish.

This just leaves the interior, wheels and exhaust to be given a clean on Friday.

So, who else has been preparing their Scoob's for the show season? Lets see some piccies

  10. Kim,

Is Rachel best person to contact chris at CDF racing? I can pm her his contact details.

Hopefully I haven't stepped on anyone's toes here?

    Chris

Yes please Chris and no, you've not stepped on anyone's toes :)

  11. Well done Chris.

I think we should perhaps ask the committee at the AGM If it would beprudent to have a sseparate new committee post of Advertising Rep or similar?

It would definitely pay dividends, and is something we should really be capitalising on for sure ;).

It was tried already Phil. A company called KJS Advertising dealt with selling advertising space for the club which brought in £400+ a quarter but was scrapped last summer.

It was also Robert's role when he stepped down as chair. We then agreed for it to be dealt with between the current committee. Gus secured a lot of sponsorship for AGM room hire costs. And Rachel is already the main liaison for selling advertising packages, she successfully gained support from Japspeed, Keith Michaels and Adrian Flux :)
