  1. Anyone starting to get all "excitit" ( to be said in Charlie Nicholas style accent []) I missed the last one so well up for the cup ! [au] Started this this thread to keep the Furry Ones thread clean for logistical / attendee purposes.. Feel free to fire down any stories or amusing pics ( e.g marsh mallow roasting ?) from previous runs...... Click here to add your name to the master thread :- http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/8/845177/S...ead.aspx#845177 Cheers Cal (Chief SIDC Morale Officer) p.s it looks like we gonna have ourselves a ........
  2. Nice one Dougie : ) I'd imagine the real figures for all owners in Scotland would be very different. Most dudes like salesmen and corduroy Kenneths will not been looking in here and will indeed still have the standard bufter exhausts..... Paddy - it took me all of 10 mins to produce the pie charts. That's about the same number of pies you boys cosume in AWD in a day [] ..........[]
  3. Fellow Flat 4 owners, Cal "Stato" Shand got carried away analysing some SIDC data this morning and thus created these graphs ........ Quite interesting eh ? Mako / Gav - does this cross corelate with your sales as a reflection of sales in Scotland ? By New Age Type :- By New Age Year :- I got too bored so I'll hand over to an old skool Excel monkey to process the Classics Regards Cal p.s all data based on http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/16/700394/...ead.aspx#700394 correct as of 12.15pm on 28th Jan 2007 p.p.s another reminder to get yersel on the map :- http://www.frappr.com/scottishscoobies]get
  4. Yes ! Stil got a video clip of that NUTTY exhaust ! The Clyde Tunnel had to go to A&E after the furry man with the jaggy jobbies drove through it
  5. HT Autos is your best bet ...........circa £89 quid but there group buy is now finished but you can find them on Ebay still. CGS
  6. My genuine bet will be :- 412 bhp and 405 lbs /ft The bugeyes are coming back at ya ! CGS
  7. 1.) 425 bhp and 390flbt 2.) 399.999999 bhp and 349.999999 ftlbt ( a jealous Cal on the wind-up ) I hereby name this whip the Blick Bomber ( cheers to The Furry One for the blick inspiration) Cal
  8. You are at the stage I was at a wee while back.................my advice is therefore :- get the TD04 ported & the up-pipe opening or hang off and get a VF35 or TD04 hybrid ( will save you an extra mapping session) becuase you'll soon find out that the TD04 runs oot o' puff at the top end. This will become more noticeable as it will come on boost harder & faster after the decat / remap deffo get all decatted parts wrapped in the engine bay remember that the lamda sensor ( if up-pipe is decatted) will be subject to WAY more heat and gas flow so bear this in mind as it could eat your turbo one day ! go for STi pinks but see comment on plug 'n play below ( I don't think I will go for these tbh) with your backbox your car will be VERY loud. Might wanna bear that in mind ! if tracking at KH I would get the upper switchable map put to Vpower & OB purely because it's safer for your car and helps with ignition advance. Might get a few more ponies but it IS safer for your engine do you want Andy to map your car to be a nice all round package e.g is B-road blasts or tracking or 1/4 mile'ing more your forte ? Torque is king regardless STi8 TMIC would be a good idea IF you are ultimately aiming beyond 300 bhp in the long run. For 280 bhp or so it's okay I believe DEFFO go for the Walbro as the car will function better with it.I am not best placed to comment on the FPR though but it sounds wise buy an STi killer sticker from CalWindUps.Com as you'll need it at KH [] What you have to ask yourself is how far down the "plug n' play" route you want to go ? As you know it is an addictive game ! Good luck Cal
  9. I had the T&C prodrive settings from Kev and it was spot on. Think I paid £89 with the SIDC discount but not sure about VAT The car is a dream with the new settings. If they also do Porsche's alignment then that's good enough for me ! Kev can also tailor the car slightly to your requirements e.g making it oversteer more etc etc etc Cheers Cal
  10. Altens Tyre Services ! 3 of them in there have Scoobs. The boss has a WR1.................enough said ! Would not use anyone else now. Speak to the guy called Pete ( thin, dark hair with glasses). He owns the blue new age STi and takes muchos care avec le pimp rims Cal
  11. Craig Mac :- Was this the Lambo in question ? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.a...p;f=118&h=0 Nae sure about fuel...................I must be a freak cos I love filling up and watching the OB / V-power cocktail pour into my chariot. At a guess I'd say circa 250 miles to a tank MPG = Miles Per Grin Cal
  12. It'll be all white on the night.................bi dum ching ! Loving this white look Welcome back my man ............Ladbrokes have withdrawn all bets that you'll have ditched your standard BB within a month ! Rusky - time to dig oot the exhaust paste again Marc - this thread might be of interest to ya ? http://www.scoobyphotos.com/subaru/impreza...subaru-2006.php Cheers Cal
  13. Nice one chaps - one more and that's 5% off Thanks for setting this up Cal
  14. Leaking (brake) fluid contacting hot egine components ? just an idea ? could be other liquid as 5.1 etc have very high boiling points Cal
  15. better idea............ Name Confirmed Type of Map Car When Willing to pay Deposit ? Cal date dependant existing Ecutek (2hrs) WRX2002 Mid-Feb Yes
  16. I keep on over looking this thread by mistake ( primarliy due to the name of the thread)...........can you maybe edit the title to say something like :- " Group Buy > Andy Forrest Remaps > Q1 2007 " I will likely go for it so will start a list below Cheers CGS 1. Cal ( dependant on whether mods are fitted but happy to pay a deposit up-front if it helps) reminder :- " Hi Craig Sorry for the late reply, I have been away for 10 days. My group buy costs are as per below. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To remap an existing Power FC is £280+v Ecutek custom remap for MY99- MY06 is £500+v A remap of one of my previous Apexi/Ecutek maps is £200+v To supply, fit and map an Apexi PFC and Comm is £795+v Travelling would be £200 for day 1 and £80 each subsequent day, I can map 2 cars per travelling day and 3 on a non travelling day ie the middle day of a 3 day trip ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With the exception of the travel costs, I could offer 5% off the above figures if you book 5 cars and 8% if you book 10 cars although I would need £100 deposits on booking to secure the 8% discount level. regards Andy "
  17. Was watching some random programme this morning and caught the tail end of some footage of a guy in Dundee with a blue new age Scooby ( think it was a non STi but had a Spec C type wing). He was on his second warning for noise pollution ( which he obviously ignored) and his car was TOWED AWAY ! £105 to get it back too ! Anyone gonna 'fes up to owning this machine ?! Cheers Cal
  18. Nice one fella I have my own tactics for getting maximum Myagi style washing outta them but will take up their offer. I wholly agree that they will knock their pan in wen washing your whip ! I used to tip them big time but they pushed their prices up so have cut back ! They still canny whack the Maryhill Muckers @ £2.50 a pop though ( NW Weigi's will know what I am talking about [] ) Cheers CGS
  19. Hi elreg, I know it not an STi but read this thread of mine. It's relebant cos I have a Sports Cat and H&S system Voila :- here's the post from way back in September ................. bear in mind that a PPP highflow cat is not 100 CEL I still get playful pelters for claiming the car to be a STi killer but my videos from KH don't lie. STi10 with 2.5 Litre engine was dispatched on two occasions although I know the track well. Numerous other weapons dealt with too but the track varied from damp to sodden ! Cheers Cal ********************************************************* Anyway, purpose of the post is to show how a few tweaks can dramatically transform a 215 bhp standard UK WRX into something a bit tastier. 3 graphs on each page represent the 3 different dyno sessions I have had at Wallace Performance ( Dastek system) over 3 different stages of tune over 12 months or so ( I kept using the same dyno set-up for consistencies sake despite having no control over weather etc !) Stage 1 - the usual attempts to let her breathe and free up some burble. Factory Map + K&N panel filter, WR Sport backbox, ScoobySport decat link pipe and unsilenced centre section. Horrible standard WRX downpipe & up-pipe cat still in-situ. Stage 2 - a remap to see what gains can be realised from a Ecutek remap Andy Forrest Map + the above Stage 3 - more serious tweaks in pursuit of more boost & ponies Revised Andy Forrest Map + ScoobySport Backbox mated to to complete turbo back TSL Thundercat system ( high flow 100 cell cat) + decat H&S up-pipe + ported turbo ( though still a standard TD04). Not hitting target boost in 2nd as I need to tweak the actuator but 3rd & 4th is hitting 1.2 bar of boost. The results (I know the real indicator is how it feels on the road but the below is a worthwhile exercise to superimpose the three runs) In summary, I have a nice quick spool up with torque flooding in early & strong ( above is 4th gear on all runs (I believe)) with peak torque almost delivered at only 3500 rpm. Bottom line is 280 bhp @ 5750 rpm and 265 ft.lbs @ 5200 rpm. [H] Any thoughts ..as to what should come next ( TD04 hybrid perhaps plus larger IC ?) Not really keen on going beyond 300 bhp in line with my reliability mindset. Handling recommendations also welcome - not keen on the brutal drop of Teins but Eibachs may be next. However, the standard springs are excellent on a bumpy B-road so maybe Whiteline gear alone may prove the remedy ? Cheers Cal ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* Incidentally, I bought a VF35 turbo today so should be breaching the 300 bhp mark and aiming for 310 bhp. Not going to tune the erse off it as it's a daily drive. CGS
  20. Welcome....... My advice is to buy a quieter exhaust and work your way up if that does not suit. Soooooo many people start with a loud can and cannot live with the sound I have tried :- STi BB ( pants ) when I was a newbie Prodrive WR Sport ( really good ) ScoobySport Classic ( like the WR with more of an edge) Afterburner ( lovely but VERY VERY VERY loud and unbearable unless you are in the mood for it) I am now back with number 3. but i have no secondary silencer and only 1 cat (sports 100 cel jobbie) My advice would be to go for something like a Race Box from http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/. You'll get a rumble form the backbox alone but get a cat back system if you can afford it Cheers Cal EDIT :- listen to this http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=88...84&q=calcam
  21. I had some cheapo aviator jobbies a few years back and you do kinda feel like.......... CGS
  22. Is the mapping gonna be in Dundee then ? I am a "maybies" but wont commit yet as I am unsure if my car will be ready in time ? CGS
  23. Another dude sees the light............nice one Franko ! makes a hell of a difference eh !
