  1. it is unusual on a scoob engine when head gaskets fail to put water in the oil.. normally combustion gas into the water.. so look at modane for sure. Simon
  2. white newage with WRC and number 07 on the side at leeds castle roundabout this morning.. waves exchanged
  3. presume he has a noisy one? Simon
  4. they are solid
  5. neutral position switch you mean
  6. more unusual to do fronts.. must have been a weak one so hopefully it won't happen again... I think you and he drove pretty similar Simon
  7. they do that when you launch with 450ish the R180 rear convertion rather than the R160 helps. . but they shear too at about 500... lol Simon
  8. sorry family have flu so the phone got ignored out of hours etc.. I believe it is booked in as I suggested at SWAutos.. spoke to them today Simon
  9. random misfire and similar codes are usually the neutral position switch.. the tip on neutral position switch is plastic and wears away.. when the ecu sees the neutral position switch indicate neutral it switches to different tables which are intended for use when stationary and tends to throw misfire or cam position error codes etc.. there is a cheap fix.. the neutral position switch has a fairly fat washer.... it can be swapped with a thinner one and the switch goes further into the gearbox.. solving the problem for another 3years or so until the tip wears further Simon
  10. get a standard backbox and remove the nur spec onto the driveway and then rev the engine lots late at night with no exhaust, early in the morning etc.. for most of the weekend.. then refit the nur spec.. then do the same next weekend.. if anyone asks show the letter.. I am trying to fit a quieter exhaust but just struggling a little Also need me to come a play with my antilag?
  11. looking good
  12. iirc I remapped Zip Daves previous newage sti.. not this one.. he worked from home and therefore did few miles and seemed a nice guy.. hope that helps Simon
  13. the airbag control unit is separate to the ecu.. it will not alter how the car drives.. however if you get a resistor (sometimes sold with the correct plug even) you can plufg that in once the airbag is removed and the light won't come on.. be warned that rturning the ignition on with no airbag will permenantly put the light on until the airbag controller is reset which requires special equipment.. so if fitting a resister do that before turning the ignition back on.. Also to note if the airbag light is no, none of the airbags will work.. Simon
  14. 500? I thought you only had two subaru's.. Simon
  15. I don;t want to get told off for advertising.. please edit mr moderator if needed.. Classic £1090 including fitting, mapping, VAT and antilag and launch or £940 with no antilag and launch Newage £1305 inclduing fitting, mapping, vat and antilag and launch or £1155 with no antilag and launch that includes two maps etc that also includes an air temp sensor and any map sensor that maybe needed (varies depending on boost level and year of car). Simon
  16. the cheaper ecutek remap on a my2000 car with standard turbo would suit you better.. I have fitted a simtek to an my2000 uk car with just decat and panel filter and it did go like stink and the antilag gave an actual gain rather than just noise, and as it is mafless you get away from the fragile maf fitted to the 99 and 00.. but it is overkill really to be honest Simon
  17. it could be the same car..
  18. yes it is bizarre...
