Hello and welcome, the run was 1st class!!!!, nice looking waggon Graeme

I get usually about 210 to the last 1/4 in mine, also fairly standard but not with Gems!!!![][] The most I have seen to a full tank was 293.5 miles and still had 5.5L in the tank (based on info that tank is 60L) Graeme

Dave, you said you already had a tek3 remap on your car from when you bought it. if this is the case a top up map shouldnt be much over £100 if that! If you give Andy a shout he will be able to give you a fair idea of what it will cost (Andy is good, very good) Graeme

Tried to phone Peter Kinnaird at 10 this morning, was told he was in meeting till 12, ok I said, I shall phone back at 1300. I phone back at 1300 to be told he is on lunch till 1330. I phone back at 1340 to be put on hold for a while and then told that he is in a meeting for the rest of the day!!!, girl says I will get him to call you back, I say thats what you told me yesterday!!!! Turns out he is going to an auction tomorrow so cant talk to me then either, but should be able to talk on MondaY SUBARU UK / INTERNATIONAL MOTORS SUCK!!!!!! Shall keep that in mind about the Whiteline gear, but think it shall be like getting blood from a stone trying to get them to pay for it We shall see what happens when I get my new rack in 3 weeks time (ps I did say to Peter Kinnaird's secetary that I was thinking about taking legal action and contacting the motoring press if the problem is not sorted out soon) lets hope that she passes this onto Mr Kinnaird Graeme
-
Oh well not long now till we set off for deepest darkest Englandshire. I shall be riding shotgun with Wilky in the Spec D as my clutch is goosed and it makes more financial sence to split the fuel costs (cheers Wilky) Cant wait, already got the in car coolbox filled with refreshments!! Graeme

You have made the right choice there Chris (spoke to him yesterday and he was down south mapping cars so dont know when hes back up, you could have to wait a couple of days for a reply) Graeme

mmmmm in a meeting[^o)] Graeme

Yes Brian, thats it sounds alot louder in car. Subaru UK and Japan have been in contact with each other and came up with the uprated spring (which does not work on Billy's or my car) I am just about to go phone Peter Kinnaird, the MD of Subaru UK (who just happened not to be in the office yesterday[^o)]) to talk to him about taking our cars back if the new rack does not fix. Both Billy and I complained about the knock within 3-4 days of ownership (well inside the 30 day cooling off period) and were assured that the noise would be fixed!!!! Anyway we will see what happens Graeme

Got a bit of a shock when I phoned Phill Evans down at Subaru Technical saying that they could not cure the knock that I have been complaining about since the 11th July last year. They came up with an idea of an uprated spring to put into the rack but this has made no difference to my car along with the new top half to the steering column that they also fitted. They say its becaust the STi9 onwards has a solid Unaversal Joint where older moddles have got a rubber damper in the column. The car did not knock when I test drove it when it had 260 miles on the clock, it only started at between 400 and 500 miles, Phill sayed that this was the normal setteling in period for the car. After being confronted by this news I contacted the dealer that I baught the car from to say that I wanted to hand the car back (bearing in mind I complained about the Knock 4 days after I took delivery of the vehicle) where he told me in no uncertain terms that he WILL NOT take the car back! It now turns out that they are going to replace the whole rack in a hope that this reduces the noise, but if that does not work im shafted. If the car displayed this knocking nois I would NEVER HAVE BAUGHT THE CAR!!!!! Oh yea Phill at Subaru says this happens to all new STi's due to the new unaversal joint setup!!!!! anyway heres a wee vid of me going round a roundabout and getting the knock http://media.putfile.com/STi-9-Steering-knock Graeme

Glad to hear your back on the road Heres to many years of trouble free motoring!!!!! Graeme -
I can lend you some axle stands if you wish to do the whole lot at once Graeme

Yes Chris is wanting performance, not just to run. I cant imagine anyone running with a warning light on all the time, seems ludicrous to me as you never know what that light is for and wouldnt have any indication of a new fault if the light was already on. Graeme
-
Yes your car will run, CEL light will come on, performance will be reduced as your ECU will over compensate and prob run megga ritch, does not matter wheather STi or WRX remap is the safest way to go! (thats why PPP also comes with a remapped ecu after changing cats etc) Graeme
-
Do it all in one go, remember you have the cat in the up pipe, therefor removing the cats in the rest of the exhaust will make your exhaust gasses more free flowing and therefor more heat on you up pipe cat. You will then run the risk of your up pipe cat failing with the bits ending up in your turbo, wrecking it. Remember once de catted you should be thinking of a remap to ensure that everything is running safely. Guarenteed once decatting you will end up with engine check light on. (a tek 3 remap is 500+ vat) After the remap with my car if felt smoother, more responsive and returned better fuel economy Graeme

Hello there, been told that cars in the run should have the plates but dont see how this will stop you from tagging along, afterall its on a public road. (there will be no heroic stuff as we all shall be sitting at speed limits and the police forces have been informed of our intensions) You shall deff be made to feel welcome at Kames if you decide to go down for a look Ps, welcome to the club Graeme -
