Yip i do indeed have a firestorm with centre decat.I had it on my 2001 wagon and transferred it onto my 04 STI and love the thing.

From the burble on idle to it on full chat with some popping and banging.

As Mcraes Escort was a custom built machine with the only standard escort parts being that it resembles the shape the figure for all the design and build work on the prototype was hovering around the £285,000.00.

The engine lies off centre to the bulkhead and the gearbox is turned on its side,this is due to all the calculations of Mcrae/grists combined weights to ensure the car has the correct weight distribution.The engine itself is a 2.5 Millington Diamond pushing 380BHP.

The car is stripped back to a shell and rebuilt after EVERY event.

Oh and one of My CORSAs engine bay,no comparison really.

Seen the beast itself close up today and all i can say is awesome.

There are three rounds of the STRC left this year and are as follows;

Tunnocks Tour of Mull 14th,15th and 16th October funnily enough on Mull.

Cheviot stages 22nd/23rd October Otterburn Military Ranges A68 Jedburgh Road.(we are competing)

Kingdom Stages 5th November Crail Airfield.(We are competing)

You would be most welcome as a spectator or better still why not marshall?

You know the type that all the best Rally crews have well we would like to be one of those and require 1 at a reasonable price to shelter us from the muddy wet stuff while servicing.

One of those that comes out a wee bag and expands to about 3m x 3m and then you extend the legs to the height required.
