hi guys posting for a mate the car is a jdm 95 wrx hes running a full group n rally pipe turbo down, hks green filter, and a hks dump valve about 5 weeks ago it started making nasty crank noises, and had no power (this is after over 1 year owning it ) so someone tells his dad this is cause its not been mapped for uk fuel i tried explaining to his dad this is not needed as he always runs it on shell optimax and the ecu sorts out this kind of problems, but you cant tell him, so they drop in a second hand engine (told him this is no good as it might also be in bad condition) they traveled nearly 150 miles to have it tuned and rolling roaded, what a surprise nothing wrong with the fueling the rolling road says its putting out 330hp yesterday he blew it again . are the stock internals able to take this kind of abuse ? whats the score on me rebuilding a engine for him ?, are parts easy to get ? thing like crank shells etc ???

ok update no fault codes showing on car still doing it taken to garage and put on there diag machine no faults tried a new maf, still the same can't be split air pipe has car has a cottengreen hks kit fitted getting expensive now, crank sensor was a £100 which cured hot start problem scobby garage here only want to charge £50 an hour to have a look

erm no i suggested reseting the ecu which john did took it out for a nother spin and it still trys to put you though the windscreen, but now showing no faults at all got the full exhaust on now too not a cat in sight, could it be the 02 sensor in the pipe, as i understand it its not in excactly the same place as if it were on a standard down pipe, running to hot/cold think its going to have to go in somewhere on a brighter not ei get a new car tomorrow, 200 bhp and NA as well

ok crank sensor done its now showing the mass air flow sensor is faulty as well ffs any idea how mush one of these is ? how do we reset the ecu so we can make sure its not showing the same faults or old faults please many thanks ian and john

thanks guys the part has been ordered as well as the centre section to finish off a full tsl exhaust hopefully this will sort it. i hate driving other peoples cars when they don't run right lol

some epoxy should do it, the longer setting time the stronger it should be

ok we did the test and we got one long and one short flash so its a crank sensor, ok no probs i found it sitting where it should be friend phoned to order it today they want over £100 plus the vat is this normal price ? for a glorified magnet ?

its a 95 import a local garage said it cant be re mapped i took it out yesterday and yeap you do hit the windscreen when it happens, was bad driving my bmw after lol to resett the ecu you just unplug the battery ? yes the down pipe is a tsl group A, it had 2 holes for the 02 senseor, the bottom one was blanked and the top hole drilled and retapped to take the 02 sensor. all the exhaust is tsl now except for centre cat. any places round norwich good for remap ?????? thanks guys any cheap scoobs for sale for me

hi all mates having trouble with his scoob it is a real bugger to start when hot and when it comes on high boost its like a rev limiter cuts in or something cutting the power, i've told him it could be loads of things and untill it goes on the diag machine he won't know but anyone got any ideas ? the exhaust downpipe has recently been changed but surly it can't be that thanks guys

freind has this prob had the down pipe replaced for a larger version, but did not put the sensor in, as was told this was not needed now having intermiternt (?) hot starting problems, is the sensor the lambada sensor ? any ideas ? also he says he gets a rather loud bang on costing from high revs is this cause of what is now basically a full rally exhaust from tsl motorsports. many noobie thanks
