  16. Some of you may of read this in the P&J but here it is anyway: POLICE TAKE RALLY ROUTE TO REDUCE CASUALTIES Grampian Police have gained the help of a high-powered and instantly recognisable new recruit in their bid to reduce the number of road casualties. The force's road-casualty reduction unit took delivery of an eye-catching new Subaru Impreza WRX from Town and County Subaru yesterday. The high-performance car is painted in the blue and yellow colours of the Subaru rally team, and officers hope it will prove to be a talking point that will help them to convey their safety message to young drivers. Within the Grampian Police area, drivers aged 17 to 24 are involved in around 40% of collisions. Of the 40 people killed on the region's roads so far this year, nine were young drivers. Chief Inspector Mark McLaren, head of Grampian Police's traffic department, said: "My officers want to break down any barriers which exist between ourselves and this group and show that they too are interested in cars - but at the same time promote that they should be driven responsibly."
