  1. Problem with silver is because its a relatively neutral colour, more or less anything strong will go with it. Easier way to pick: Whats your favourite colour? Turn the brightness to 11, and spray it on
  2. Huh.... the 'black' ones are actually more a grey, anthrecite.... still can't spell that colour. the black ones are darker. Flikr was being a PITA last night, so I couldn't see what I was uploading. I'll try and grab the black ones when I get in. Otherwise, I'm with Scoobywho, black with white lettering (depending on the manufacturer of the tyres, of course ) would look nice. But I'm not a fan of shock factor, and with my car having white wheels on when I first got it, I have an allergic reaction every time I see them now! >.<
  3. Just some random colours. Sorry for the delay, got a bit snowed under last night
  4. Pic to start from? If someone doesn't get to it first, I'll do it when I get in.
  5. 6 months I've had mine. Home-done service, Wheels were buckled when I got it, so got a set off a classic Windscreen has a crack across the bottom because of a gritter and fantastically bad luck. LED sidelights (<- What a PITA they were!) Infinite amounts of plans made
  6. 1: That is the most solid looking chassis I've ever seen! Have you been able to see how much it flexes yet? (I've forgotten the test for it and the units. Call it a blonde moment ) 2: Let us know how it gets on with the UTC! That will probably be the best test of the partnership of the donor-car mix
  7. Cheers Don. Only thing that seems to match is the program being lost, which is weird. Thanks for the link though, its odd that it didn't show up in search.
  8. Okay, so. My hawkeye's remote locking has stopped working, and the 2nd fob is just as mashed. Yaay, my car was owned by a meat fisted.... person >_< Anyway, did a search on here to see what there was to do about it, but nothing came up. Not even searching 'Key' came up with anything! Apparently I have the only broken key lol. Anyway, anyone got a circuit diagram/something to tell what could be gone etc? The local dealer quoted £50+programming for a new one, which I really can't afford atm
  9. Nice to see a classic getting some love. If I was a little bit older and/or could afford the running costs, I'd love to be able to do up one of these. Nice work on it too You'll have it looking right in no time
  10. And yet, you'll jump in it and drive down the right road by coincidence, and all of that will pale into the aether as you eat up the corners. Welcome to motoring. I'm surprised it took this long for you to get this sick of a car! I have plenty of moments like it in the ownership of both my old cars, and yet they STILL managed to put a smile on my face when driven down the right road
  11. So is the Impreza! Although you raise a fair point. I know a guy with a Blob WRX who kept it spotless. We took him to the WRC, and it came back caked in mud. Apparently he kept it like that for a few months just because it looked better! His was WR blue though.
  12. Chris, tbh, I've enjoyed all but one of your spam posts. IMO, a big part of a community is it's sense of humour. Without that, we may as well be a bunch of old men (*cough* I am NOT an old man), talking about the slight variations in spring rates on our 1956 Frog-eyed-sprites. Don't know about anyone else, but that ain't really my cup of tea.
  13. Were they parked or rolling Chris? That looks spectacular!
  14. Good grief, I bought an impreza for so many reasons; 1: The Noise 2: The Engine 3: The Rally connections 4: The Banter between different owners 5: The looks of the things. 6: The age-group of owners, and their (general *cough* Chris ) maturity by comparison with other motoring groups. 7: 4WD. And the way you can drive more or less anywhere, the final trump card for any pub contest. Even my little n/a can compete! I think thats it for now. I'd hesitate to say I've made friends here, for obvious reasons, but there are those around here I think I owe a drink to already
  15. Na, I thought it funny that in a reply to what I thought was another jokey thread you double-posted within a minute. Kind of an irony type humour.... Perhaps only I got it though I'm going to go back to my South East section now....
  16. I've seen a couple of attempts at events in the Kent area, so its more of a feeler post. If you can register your interest, location and availability Mon-Sun below, it'd be appreciated. When I was in the VAG scene, I started one of the largest informal meets in the South East, so I do know how to organize a 'do.' Would be nice to have some real cars in attendance now though Oj 89 - Dartford - Mon, Wed, Fri-Sun Evenings
  17. Whats a fact? That in your opinion the things Chris (I think...) has been posting is crap? In my opinion, they're funny, and I've tried to comment on them to, as was posted in a thread a while ago, get some banter going. Present your opinions as such, and you'll get a nicer response from me.
  18. I.... Disagree Corsa. Most of the funny/interesting/general stuff I've seen on here have been from those two. Thats not to say they're necessarily posting too much (in spite of Mctwists 2 posts in a minute further up the thread ) If you don't want to see so much of 'em, why don't you start posting interesting topics up? I've tried my share, but I don't have a busting lot to talk about round here, that and I'm relatively new to the site anyway. No need to hate, just because you can't think of something to say, doesn't mean the rest of us shouldn't be allowed to
  19. Might get you over the bumps and crests, but flying won't help with the turns. Just look at Hovercrafts!
  20. Ty. I knew it was one of them. I haven't got to grips with the layout of the Boxers yet... but I suppose that makes sense anyway
  21. Okay, polish the exhaust manifold and cover the air scoop thing, and that would look epic! your application of the vinyl is spot on too, was that a lucky first go, or have you done it before?
  22. Maybe putting a thread in the Members section would be an idea? Hopefully no one would get spammed then. Could have monthly competitions or something based around being a member too On Grid 2 once its out, since iirc, its cross-platform, so I can join in on my PS3
  23. Yeah, true. I can imagine where they make their sales though! Someone comes home having just been cut up/held up by that type of person, and rage-buys it and then thinks better of it. Could always get one of those scrolling LED signs and use that to display... messages. edit: Like "Joing SIDC @ sidc.co.uk." Obviously not using cursing or anything like that
  24. Was browsing the eBays and stumbled across a shop. Which had a windscreen strips section. Now I'm not one for them, tbh. I have visors for when its sunny, and I like the visibility that 4" of screen at the top gives you, for example, when going through dips, BUT. I was SERIOUSLY tempted by this one, bearing in mind my Impreza's a daily eBay Link Here Obviously its a single use item, which most of the time when the cars parked will look out of place, especially if its mirrored like it would have to be for normal mirrors, but for that moment when a BMW driver (No offence Matty, you know what I mean) is sat in the outside lane doing 60... It saves flashing your lights. Made me giggle in the least
  25. That reminds me, I really should get some black and white Subaru badges for the impreza.....
