  1. Why sell up? Worst case scenario, get a diesel with a towbar (and a trailer), strip the impreza, and use the saved money to take it on the track.
  2. Very cool! How much is it to get on the track? Last I saw was £160 for the day. Can't afford that atm unfortunately, otherwise I'd be there too! Good luck on the day.
  3. Sounds good! Might even extend the offer to the essex boys too. Although I'd probably wait till the summer so my n/a has less of a disadvantage
  4. How accurate is the Hayes Dyno..? Never been there before (despite being around the corner from me
  5. Love it! Might do this when I get a girl to drive mine..... I'm sure it'll make an awesome video!
  6. Been there, done that on the OP. Thankfully it was on my Corsa, on steel wheels. Got home and tried to cover the wheel which obviously wasn't straight and scouring the webz for replacement steelies. Ended up finding a set round the corner and having to get my dad's help to redo the tracking. You live and learn eh?
  7. afaik, you'll notice it more in your fuel tank than the engine, and the benefits aren't usually worth the outlay - either up-front or over-time. There is more stress put on the engine, and this might play a factor depending on how well it's been maintained etc. Could be talking out of my backside though, and it'd probably be better to wait for the more experienced users to wake up, but that was my understanding of it...
  8. Ahh, now the term UP pipe makes sense. With the Exhaust manifold going UP to the turbo, and back down. The more you know....
  9. Oh, on the exhaust side. I was thinking a Intake Pipe from my VAG history. Still not familiar with the engine layout on the turbos. Need to get my hands dirty on one methinks >: )
  10. I'll go get the long weight, shall I? What the hell is an up pipe anyway!? XD
  11. Repeat for a newer member? I've been loving this conversation! Haha.
  12. Who here has an Android phone? I made a wee app to take you straight to the forums if anyone wants it?

  13. Bit too early after Rallyday for me to get there unfortunately. Hopefully if I'm on a bit more money next year, I'll be up for it
  14. Lol. I'm going Rallyday, but will go down and back on the day
  15. Ty. At the moment, its looking like 4 attendees. 1 or two more, and I think we'll be looking at organizing a location
  16. Geez, Bigfelly, you want to give me your password or something so I can proof-read your posts before/once you've posted? Ty for the story dude, mirrors my exact experience at a first meet too. Turned up, EARLY of all things, in the smallest engined car there. 2.5 years later, I was hosting my own meets in a completely different area, like the RO of that locale. Had so many numbers on my phone from it! But it all starts with being a little bit brave, confidant and easily distra-ooh, is that a Garrett Turbo? Yeah... That was my secret lol.
  17. Nail. meet Head.
  18. I actually aired my concerns about social awkwardness and touching nerves when I first joined in December, namely to Matty and Chris. Their opinion was to get stuck in, so I did, and now I miss some of the humour, but the more I read, the more I join the dots... Its a case of theres a lot of 'old timers' ('old' as in the internet form, not real life, its substantially shorter), who yes, have their private jokes, but there's nothing stopping anyone joining thats 'clique'. Its a forum-wide group, just you need to listen before speaking and try not to feel alienated by that. "Two ears and one mouth," so goes the saying, "so you should listen twice as much as you talk."
  19. Lol. I've been posting threads about it. Had at most 2 replies I think? There doesn't seem to be many people down this way. But this isn't really 'subby territory.' Still, there might be more around now we've started getting regular snow down this way.
  20. Personally, I don't know what you're all complaining about! At least you lads up there HAVE a community! Down here, its like a millpond for adult conversation and banter around scoobs. Its all chavved classics and backward caps down here! Unless there's a community I've missed. Be grateful you have a community to be protective/envious/whatever over, cos it could be a lot worse!
  21. You wondering now why I was so slow to post when I first joined? As far as convo's getting heated is concerned, sometimes that's a good thing! Controversy breeds conversation, and conversations, as long as everybody keeps their head, keeps the community alive! As far as the 'spamming' went, I had no problem with it. I had seen worse on other car forums, and it was turned a blind eye to as far as mods were concerned. TBH, I could repost everything I find on Jalopnik, all relevant stuff, and mostly funny. But I'd probably get the same response (if not harsher) than you've been getting, Chris. Principally because on the larger scheme of things, I am unknown to 'most' users, other than the odd reply and thread where I felt qualified to do so, and to suddenly start 'spamming' would likely be looked on dimly. The other part of it lies in that I'm from Kent. Most of the users on here (pardon the hyperbole) have likely never seen Kent, other than maybe the White cliffs of Dover on postcards. I wouldn't be surprised if I got stick for that.
  22. I +1 this statement!
  23. Gotta be said: "Stop. Hammer Time." Also "I didn't know the Italians liked to get hammered." Or "I always thought Maserati's were rather smashing!"
  24. Could probably extend the South East interest list to Sussex, we'd just have to move the eventual meet to somewhere like Tonbridge, or similar. Have a nosey at this thread, no organisation yet, but I'm hoping to get something going soon down our way. Can't let the Scot's have all the fun!
  25. Thankfully, Subaru's don't tend to be a car that people move on from very quickly, so getting an interest list is definitely worth it, when we get, say 5 definitely interested, I'll start looking at appropriate places to go.
