Got my renewal yesterday, £280 for the year for a 2004 wrx, sad times. Thing is its no longer road tax, its road fund licence, the goverments way of trying to kid us all on that its not a tax. Only a small proportion of it actually gets spent on the shite roads we drive on.

If you phone samco direct, they'll advise you or quite possibly sell you the part.

I thought being able to make the tea was the important job.

Dunc has a list of set ups for the impreza, and a hunter laser allignment system, i reckon he'll set it up for what you want.

Try duncan at hypertech in bonnybridge.

I see you got a pretty good deal Chris.

If You Could Drive Anything Then What Would It Be?
baldobaz replied to scottishtaffy's topic in Scottish Scoobies
For me it would be various different historical rally cars like the audi S1, lancia intagrale, toyaota celica gt4, all the different versions of the impreza's. To me rally cars in tarmac spec are the ultimate road cars. -
Aye, james was a bit, ahem....... Feart to dyno this.

Was a pretty good turn out today, all 7 of us from sidc, turned out to be a cracking day though, plenty of banter and a few surpises. Hope there was a good amount raised for yorkhill. Didnt win any whiteline goodies, was hoping for some droplinks, oh well, cant have it all, i still walked away with a smile, well a massive grin actually.

On a related note, fairy liquid will strip any protection you have on your paint and can lead to laquer peeling, and never use a sponge to was your car, you would be aswell using a sanding block.

Chemical guys blue clay is pretty good, but yeah any decent clay bar work, if you have never tried it before start with a soft clay rather than a hard, you'll be amazed at how dirty a "clean" car actually is.

Not going to make this one however im on holiday first week in september so hopefully i'll make that one.

Rolling Road Day Raffle - Tickets Now On Sale

Does it really matter what one forum does diffirent to another, ultimatly who cares. We are all enthusiasts that enjoy subarus in one form or another, some are into driving them some are into showing them off, doesnt make one person better or worse than the other for being into there own thing. I do think some folk on here need to take the stick out there arse and chill out, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one. Just because you dont agree on something doesnt been the ban stick has to come out, yes there should be boundaries/ limits etc. I used to think sidc was up its own arse when i first joined but now after meeting a few members and going to a couple of meets ive realised that to not be the case. Lets concentrate on how to make it THE subaru club.

Why Did You First Decide To Buy A Scooby & Will You Always Have One?
baldobaz replied to a topic in Scottish Scoobies
Ive always lusted after the impreza, mainly due to following rallying and colin mcrae, that and the burble. Ive had various lesser cars, but ive always been into performance brands, nova gte, cavalier gsi, focus st170 but i always wanted an impreza. 3yrs ago i had a tuned vw bora tdi, tjis was the same year we had the heavy snow, i couldnt go anywhere in it, totally pissed of with it i promised myself my next car would be an impreza. Once i had some money i started looking, they were all blue with gold wheels, the iconic colours, that was until i stumbled on a red blobeye wrx with a few sti bits and that was me, i had to have it. Nearly 2yrs later and im just as happy now as the day i drove it back from hull. -
I cant get on ss, but yeah i think the sidc is seen to be the domain of old duffers with no sense of humour, and through posting varios advice type questions on here and being met with a wall of silence or only a couple of replies tends to lend to that train of thought. Im not club bashing by any means, however it can come across as being less than friendly. There was a bit of chat about this on sun aswell, and most peoples thoughts were, why cant we just get along, at the end of the day the number of people into proper cars is falling, due to the cost of running them etc, even the after market is on the decline, you all think how many Alloy wheels shops there used to be, even car audio retailers, etc etc. I joined SIDC after seeing your stand and the convoy at wings and wheels about 3yrs ago and thought wow, when i get my impreza thats who i want to be apart of. We need to get all regions involved, ive been to a few meets now and its the same faces all the time, a handfull of glasgow/ lanarkshire and cathy, whats wrong with the other regions. Ultimatly we the members are in charge of the club and only we as a club can change it.

There are 2 other red blobs in lanarkshire that i know of, 1 in coatbridge and 1 in cumbernauld, was gutted after i got mine, had never seen another red one anywhere, bloody typical.
