About kingboyk

  1. I fear I may have sold the car before it sees new mats Any news?
  2. My brother just sold me his 03 blob eye STI which he had from new, so 8 years (53k). To buy that he traded in a Turbo 2000 which he'd had for a year or 2. Pretty dedicated but has had to give it up as he needed a family car - could have got a Forester but there we go! PS Had a farmer admiring the car today "Subarus - the best cars in the world!" he told me. Apparently they don't make the pickup trucks any more?!
  3. Thanks guys. Owned by my bro since new so I can safely say it's bog standard (let's make it sound better - "unmolested") Type UK, no remapping or aftermarket stuff. Your description seems spot on Mark. So looks like we're talking 261bhp, 152mph, 1470kg.
  4. Where I can find the specification (and/or an original brochure) of the STi Type UK blob eye? There's so many models and variants and I just can't find anything authoritative. Got asked today how many bhp the car has and embarrassingly didn't know :/ Would also like to know weight, limited speed etc so full spec chart really.
  5. The new bulbs made an unbelievable difference. I'll hold off on the driving lamps for now as haven't yet decided whether the car will be a long term keeper or not. Thanks for all the help.
  6. What I'm after is a full set of mats including boot for an MY 2003 blob-eye STI type UK. Car is the usual blue with gold wheels. Thinking a bright blue with pink STI Type UK logo if that's not hideous
  7. That would be excellent thank you. Yes I saw the free postage makes it an even better deal!
  8. Right I'm going to need a set of these but I understand that the group buy has ended so I can arrange it myself. Tried to price up a set at the Subaru dealer and was told they're no longer available! Did anyone buy navy or bright blue mats with pink STI Type UK (or just STI) logo? If yes please post pictures, I don't trust myself when it comes to matching colours
  9. Gosh that sucks, hope they get it back in one piece.
  10. Going for Osram Night Breaker HB3s on the advice of PowerBulbs
  11. Apparently my car still has the original OEM bulbs in it. Spoke to the good people at Litchfield Imports and they've recommended starting with new bulbs and seeing how that goes. So, I'm thinking Philips X-treme Vision H1 for low beam and Philips Blue Vision HB3 for main (X-treme not available in this size?). If this is a horrible choice please shout
  12. They look just the job Jon. You're not wrong about the price though! Thanks mate, food for thought.
  13. When my brother first started running Scoobies McRae, Burns et al were alive and winning rallies, which gave the car a LOT of cachet. That's all ancient history. Also like a lot of people in my age group he's got a family and needs a roomier more "sensible" car (but thankfully not a people carrier!) so the Scoob has had to go (to me). Then there's the folks who've made some money and moved up to exotic metal such as Ferraris and Lambos. As time has worn on I'd wager that quite a few of the original enthusiasts have moved on for reasons like this.
  14. Yeah, I think to be legal driving lamps have to come on with full beam only. Nothing out of the ordinary for a competent mechanic I'd have thought
