Thats the only good thing about getting old - cheaper car insurance. I'm a grand a year for insurance on the scoob and 400 on the mx5 also. Couldnt get it cheaper done individually either otherwise i would have. I am with admiral and they are terrible IMO and ive had nothing but problems with them. Good luck on the quote though!

Do you work in the oil industry by any chance? If not, what brings you to aberdeen? You will struggle with the local slang and language and wonder who this 'ken' guy they all speak about is aye ya ken. I'm from new Zealand (small island off Australia lol) and have been living here for 4 years, it's a great cuty but one o the most expensive places to buy a house, most flats in 'nice' areas and I use tht term loosly go for around 100k. Evening all, just wanting to check that this is the tube that I need to tap into to install a boost gauge? And its also there that I need to put the 'T' piece about 8-10 cms along that tube right? Is it worth replacing the tube at the same time with some new silicone tubing? maybe go for some colour coding while im there or will it just wreck it? I know its probably as obvious as daylight to you all but I am learning!! (albeit slowly)

Yea forresters are quite popular, who doesn't love a 4wd with 300odd bhp?? I wouldn't say they are any more popular than other subarus but people can put 20" wheels on them and coilovers for a daily driver! Il get you some pics of some nodded ones if you want? Yup, took some more pics on sunday once it had been cleaned! Also, from the last picture am i missing an air intake pipe? The one that goes into the wing of the car and then to the airbox. Im pretty sure it is, but can anyone confirm? I am on th look out for a new passenger side wing mirror as the current one is cracked on the bottom and fog light covers so if you have either please get in contact!

Cheers for all the info guys, i really like the look of those prosprt ones but not sure if i want them in the dash. The visibilty of the ones that phil mc has up looks spot o as well so i guess il just have to see what i like best. Ive also seen a few in the drivers air vent, is this a good place? look really tidy there but i guess you need the right size one. Off to ebay for a look i go!

SO it really is as simples as that? Hardest part sounds like taking the dash and surrounding bits off. Cheers and i shall now look to purchasing one and having a go at installing it! Am i alright with just a boost gauge or should I get Oil Telp and Oil Pressure as well as they seem like the 3 most comon ones.

Evening all Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong section (which i imagine it probably is) and mods you can move it if you wish, but im stil trying to get used to your forum layout! Now, is there a Boost gauge instalation guide somewhere on the forum? I tried the search with little success so thought i would ask the experts. I notice there are also so many different types of gauges, do they all do the same thing i guess? If it makes a difference it would be for an 03 blobeye. Thanks

ScoUK - It sure was, test drove it on saturday. Went home, moaned to the otehr half that it was a good purchase etc, went back on sunday and test drove it again. While we were in speaking the dealer owner another guy came in and said he was there to buy it and the owner said we had already bought it when we hadn't! So, queue ten mins of awkward umming and ahing between me and my girlfriend before i put the deposit down! Just waiting for the plate to be changed from private to the standard one so hopefully will be getting it soon!

I've already got the huge grin, had it since the test drive. I've wanted a blobeye wrx with the small spoiler for a long time so when one came up at a very reasonable price i kinda didnt need and more persuasion than get to get it! Look forward to meeting you all at some point.

Oh im not worried about the modding bug, always had it and i cant see it staying away from this car! De- tango the indicators sounds like a good place to start. I will have a look at the scoobypedia tommorrow at work so i cant get some more info.
