No Dale, only going by the gauge on the dash. I was speaking to a neighbour this morning and he said the same thing that the gauge could be duff. What kind of gauge aftermarket gauge would you need so that you would know if it was overheating ? Il try taking it for a drive then leaving it for 10 mins and see if the fans come on. So as a couple of you may be aware the girlfriend and I went to Edinburger over the weekend. Ive had the scoob for a few months now and the temperature gauge has never gone above the sort of 1/3 mark - that was until Saturday ofcourse. I had driven from Aberdeen to Edinburgh and once I got into Edinburgh all the stopping and starting over about 20metres I noticed the temp gauge go up and up a little bit at a time. I thought this was just heatsoak because the car wasnt getting any air through the radiator and was just expecting the fans to come on maybe at the 2/3rds mark. I didn't hear it come on then so after another couple of moving 20metres then stopping for a minute the gauge rose to about the length of the needle below the red mark so i dived to a bus lane, turned the car off, put on the hazards on and opened the bonnet. This is where i think i messed up because i turned the engine off i couldnt tell if the fans were working! I left it with the bonnet open for around 10mins to cool down and then continued the last mile of my journey in flowing traffic so the gauge dropped again. Could the fans be duffed? Sensor or something? Is there anyway of testing the fans do work without giving the car heatsoak again? Sorry for the long post but hopefully I have included everything! Jason

Is that the 2011 model? A family friend has just put a deposit on a white one, they went in to look at a mazda 3, the dealer didnt have any so they took the mps and came back and paid a deposit for one! Im looking forward to a ride in it one day!

I got mine put there (until i get a pillar pod) so it was stil in my eyeline. Didnt really want it on the steering coloum but would have liked it in the air vent on the airvent but then you cant really see it and would have to take your eyes off the road to look at it!

The scoob is my first 4wd car, all others have been FWD. G/f has got a mx5 and RWD is great fun but investments in good tyres is a must, especially for the wet. This winter will be our first with 4wd and RWD so we shall see how we get on.

What kind of detail did you get? The full works?

Don't suppose anyone can find it in the goodness of their heart to help me install this lot can they? Would probably have to be done next week or weekend as my only free night is tomorrow. It's a defy boost gauge and unit thing I've forgotten the name of. Beer money in it for the willing party

school holidays i guess, gives the parents and kids something to do during the day for a couple of hours?

If your not planning on selling up then i would sell (if you can) the OE parts that you have taken off. The only thing about a modified car is the market for buyers can be smaller so having the original parts to put back on can be a good thing.

Just a bit offtopic, but what is the legality behind tinted windows anyone? Is it none on the front drivers and passengers but the rear passengers and back window are ok? Or is at police and MOT discretion or what?

I have however just noticed that this is next weekend. I thought it was in another month or 2. Sadly i cnat put the money together before then so shall have to look out for the next one. Hope you werent relying on me to make up number (unlikely i know)

Who deals with Subaru parts in Aberdeen? Is it stil town and county in Altens? Just asking because i'm after one blobeye fog light cover and ebay and the likes is turing into a bit of a 'mare to try and buy only one from. If it makes a difference i'm after the nearside (passenger) one.

Surely its the same across the whole newage subaru range? Although to be fair i dont mind the standard set up at the moment if you fiddle about with the bass and treble etc its not too bad, but i will be looking to put in better speakers in the future for sure.
