Has anyone tried a HKS or a K&N Gold oil filter instead?

Hi, I am getting an oil flush this week and new filter and am looking at different oils to fill up with. In the manual it says that the car should use ideally 5w/30 else 10w/40 but I have read on forums that 5w/30 is too thin? is this true? what are you using and why? My car is a 53 reg on 59k and is standard except for prodrive pack. Thanks for reading ;-) Chris

Hi All, My name is Chris and I'm a new Impreza owner... Really happy with the car its great, It's an 04 WRX Blob eye with the Prodrive performance pack ;-). My only issue with it is that I have spotted some small rust patches around the rear window drain/boot lip (pics below) and was wondering if they where common and if anyone else has had this problem what they did and how that turned out? Hi Chris, I have just bought a 53 reg WRX PPP from them and the service was spot on. the only thing I had was that there was a cracked front fog light which I pointed out before buying which they said they would fix but when I picked it up it wasn't but they have said they will do it as soon as the part arrived and also I have found that the wing mirror motor on the passenger's side doesn't seem right so I am booking it in this week to be sorted, will update you on how I get on ;-) but so far overall spot on. any specific questions let me know.
