  1. hahahah aye wasnt until i uploaded it i saw it, the wife said to me oh aye hide yours but not mine
  2. thnx for the comments, yeah I saw turtle wax ice advertised on tv at halfords so went over to see if they had it, to find not 1 but multiple ice products ranging from the clay pad for smoothing right up to synthetic shampoo lol, I got the all in 1 wax kit for 12 quid, doesnt leave any white residue like other polishes but its just a wax and wont remove much oxidation ect, comes with a applicator pad and a cloth for buffing it off. Was well impressed how easy it brought up the shine
  3. Spent a couple of hours giving her some much needed tlc, tried that new turtle wax ice I saw advertised on t.v to see how it goes, my IPhone cam doesnt really do it justice though
  4. thnx for the reply m8 clarifies what i though
  5. Hiya all, Just got car back from 50,000 service with cam belt done, was told left bank vvt pulley is slightly out of line and pulley would have to be removed to sort it and chances are the retaining bolt will shear on removal?, surely if 1 pulley is out it would run terrible?Car runs fine apart from a new noise coming from front of engine sounds like a rubbing weird noise hard to describe but i am sure its not the belt rubbing on cover as I cant feel any vibrations when touching the cover , will take it back tommorrow to let them listen to it, just wondered your views on this. cheers Stevie
  6. Hiya m8, Welcome to the club, Ye it does look like the plastic force air bit is missing (cant think of a technical name lol), Now get out there and drive it
  7. Its easier than you think m8 and it makes a huge difference, remove the solenoid from the bracket, then what i did was connect the 2 green plugs under dash and sprayed the electrical cleaner in one of the ports, as it clicks u get the cleaner coming out other side, clean the pipes if they look bad as well, put it all back together and go drive it and feel the difference. There are a good few write ups about it, again if you are still struggling just ask
  8. Gav, I wouldnt mind a price for a 50,000 mile service on my 55 plate sti, I have not long done a oil/filter change so that wouldnt need done. cheers Stevie
  9. I got a 2nd de-cat and centre section with resonator, the centre section bend was very slighlty out making exhaust sit closer to rear diff but the hangers keep it from hitting it, they are well made, comes complete with all gaskets, nuts and bolts. So other than the slight offset no problems whatsoever and quick delivery
  10. Hiya all, I have a 2 port Oil Catch Can I am looking to fitting to my 2.5l hawk, Been reading quite a bit on the net and found some say you should keep head vents and crank vents seperate but some say it doesnt matter?, also should I use the second port to feed back cleaner air to intake (maintaining pressure), or vent it out back of car and block up the original intake pipework. What I was planning to do was take dirty head and crankcase breather into 1 port of can then pipe the 2nd port to intake and block either the crank or head return also blocking up the pcv port. Checking the engine where the head vents come up there is a 2nd larger pipe next to it, is it just balancing the pressure between head and crankcase? if so just ignore that 1? thnx for any help/advice guys. Stevie
  11. Sorted, tnx a lot smiler, found oil in the pipes and into solenoid, gave it a good cleaning out and so far its like a diff car, smooth power all the way up
  12. Ahh now reading that I also did an oil change just before the problems and it was filled to just below max, will get onto that tommorrow cheers
  13. Had the car just over a year now, and yeah thast it in the pic, It was a subaru uk owned car when new
  14. I have to say only really noticed it when hot as i am very gentle with it until it is hot, Yes that sounds almost identical to whats happening, a wee bit of cough/splutter then it clears and its ok, kinda hoping you are going to pinpoint the problem now
  15. bear with me with this guys i will explain as best i can as to whats happening, the car is a 55plate hawkeye sti type uk, whats happening is its like there a bit of a cough when boosting now and again then its like the power just hits, its not like this all the time, other problem i have is say on motorway at 70 and accelerate in 6th the boost comes up to about 17psi on some cases with foot planted 19psi but nothing happens, it does accelerate but like its not using teh turbo, try it 15 mins down the road boost comes up and away we go no probs. Maybe just a coincidence but i started having these probs after it failed an mot on emissions and got subaru to change the lambda sensor and it passed no probs. Only mods I have is foam air filter, 2nd decat, straight through centre section and a prodrive back box, hoping these symptoms will ring any bells with you guys Stevie
  16. Welcome m8, That car looks gorgous kinda miss my classic.
  17. So basically all i need is syntrax universal for the 6speed dccd gearbox incorporating front and centre diff, and for the rear diff? do you need an additive for the lsd rear diff or even the main gearbox? thnx in advance I`m a bit of a newbie when it comes to servicing and stuff on the scoob but am gettin there
  18. Looking very nice m8 , know what u mean about miles to tank, my hawkeye manages avaerage about 200miles
  19. lol will look forward to that 1, maybe better have the guinness before doing it
  20. Did my first oil change on an impreza today (put all my previous scoobies into a garage) so wasnt too sure what job lay ahead lol, I was quite pleased as the hardest thing was removing the black plastic covering, even that was quite easy, the layout for the oil filter and sump plug is superb, from experiance on other cars the filter has been a pain to get to, also was amazed just how much oil it took to prime the new filter. I did make a noob mistake though lol, i was using a 12v light connected to battery and my door was just open so interior light was on so u can guess whats happenin next lol, yeah battery flat , ah well we live and learn lol, running sweet on silkoline pro s 5-40w now ,wont have any doubts about doing it myself again, just thought i would share my days experiance, openning up the guinness now
  21. I wouldnt mind getting pm`d a price for job like that on a hawk sti, Outstanding work m8, very nice
  22. Sorry to hear m8, fingers crossed its a simple fix and you are back on the road
