About webbz

  1. I own a hawkeye sti ppp on a 07 plate and have been tempted by a RB320 at a local dealer. It's up for 21 grand but have done a deal which will see me getting it for 19. Are there any owners or previous owners that can advise whether to go for it, or stick with my current car. Cheers, Webbz
  2. Hello mate. My car had the same problem and had a new egr valve and maf fitted with no change, then the lambda sensor was replaced and everything is fine now. Don't know if that's any help. Cheers, Webbz.
  3. Thanks for the advice mate. I might have to persevere with the Bailey one though otherwise its a hundred quid down the drain. Don't know why they recomended the Bailey over the Forge, especially after reading through old posts on the site. I should have checked here first but I thought I was getting the best advice from them. Cheers, Webbz
  4. Some advice please. I had a Baileys dump valve fitted to my 07STI PPP Impreza last September and after about two weeks I started to have problems with hesitation and high fuel consumption. The standard re-circulating valve was put back on for warranty reasons but the problems remained anyway. The EGR valve, MAF sensor and finally the Lambda sesnsor (which cured the prob)were replaced under warranty and now that has expired I'm in two minds whether to put the dump valve back on as I'm unsure if the problems started because of it. I was advised by a local Subaru tuner to go for the Bailey but after reading a few posts I'm wondering if I would have been better off paying the extra and going for the HKS which was my first choice, but was advised against it. Any ideas? Cheers, Webbz.
  5. I haven't been to the site for a few weeks and noticed the trouble you have had with hesitation. I had the same problem with my 07 sti and after a new egr valve and maf sensor the fault was eventually sorted when the lambda sensor was replaced. Don't know if this has been any help as you might be sorted now. Cheers, Webbz
  6. Will do mate. Hopefully getting them fitted next Saturday. Webbz
  7. Have gone for a set of 18 inch Lenso Samurai DR1's in black with red trim under a set of Toyo Proxes T1-R tyres. Managed to get them for £955 fitted and balanced so getting a set of black rally mudflaps with red Sti logo too. Can't wait Webbz
  8. Thanks for the pics mate. It's given me a better idea how five spokes will look on the car as the KEI alloys I'm thinking of are also a five spoke design. Just hope they'll clear the front callipers. cheers, Webbz
  9. I own a 07 Impreza sti PPP in silver and want to ditch the standard gold 17's for 18's. At the moment I'm thinking of a set of KEI RSS alloys in gloss black or gun metal with Toyo T1-R tyres, but am open to any suggestions from anyone who has changed their alloys on a silver impreza, regarding colour, looks and tyres. Cheers, Webbz
  10. After a new EGR valve, diverter valve, MAF sensor and a couple of trips back and forth to Subaru the acceleration probs have been sorted. It's like a new motor again.
  11. I've mentioned in a previous topic that the car had been suffering from acceleration problems and an increase in fuel consumption. After taking it back to Subaru it turns out that the problems have been caused by a faulty EGR valve. It's going back next Monday to have a new valve fitted and they said the car will be fine to drive during this time, however I'm worried that the extra driving might cause additional problems. Anybody had this problem before? And any ideas what can cause it? cheers Webbz.
  12. Had the car in this morning and the problem is with the EGR valve. They have said its okay to drive for now as the parts have to be ordered, so its going to be over a week before I can get it sorted. The car is still under warranty but will this extra driving cause any other problems with the turbo or anything else? It's already hitting me in the wallet due to the extra fuel consumption so I hope there are no more problems. Cheers Webbz
  13. Another one who has just seen this today. Many happy returns and thanks for the welcome the other day.
