Hi another boost solenoid question, can I just swap this out or is there any tuning involved when changing one any info appretiated thanks

Hi some of you may have seen the thread referring to the fact that my03 wrx has no boost, I have checked many thing and had it In a garage today they "think" it is the solenoid as they are getting boost with it disconnected but they are looking for 180 plus vat, and I suppose it really comes down to the fact I don't trust the garage. I was hoping someone in the Edinburgh with a bit of know how could help me out to maybe swap it out if they had a spare lying around to see if this is the problem help appretiated anyone

Hi the only cat that is on the car is a ninja sports cat downpipe it's about 6 months old, also I'm pretty sure I can here the turbo spooling up but will check tomorrow, really hoping it is a hose, when I think of it I was pulling away from the lights pretty slow last week when I heard a loud hissing noise I stopped and checked my tires thinking it was that then put it down to it being a car next to me, but it seemed fine after that, also I could hit motorway speeds no probs it's driving like a 2.0l non turbo is the best way to explain it

think it revs fine had it to about 5000 rpm seems fine just shock there is not boost no big pull its got a vf 35 sti intercooler and the supporting mods done this months ago has been great till today keeps going past 3.5rpm like a normal 2.0l car

dont know if any one has mentioned them but api are good i got my engine sent down to them they replaced the wrx bottom end with a sti and sent it back to get fitted

Hi was out in my car tonight and went to put the foot down a little and was expecting it to start pulling like hell as usual a 3.5 rpm but there was no boost at all it's like running without a turbo, over the last week or so it has sounded like the exhaust was vibrating of the chassi on occasion if this could have anything to do with it, there is no White smoke and the engine sounds fine also there is no lights on on the dash

Me and a friend had a little race off a round about and up a motorway sliproad today after a few conversations about who would win. The outcome was Subaru pulling away to about 85 then the m5 catching up after that so tomorrow the conversation will be who would win a 1/4 mile from a standing start any thoughs ?

Api will take part exchange on your old engine give them a shout the carrage cost for me was £150 there and back as there in England, they are very highly rated on scooby net

yep thats me its now mapped to 318/310 but only had it mapped where i did because the were wavering costs because it died on there rolling road id still prefere it done by andy forrest and id get that done sooner without paying a license , it was just a thread i read earlier got me thinking, and no it was not an ecutek mapp that was done after the build

but IF ppp uses ecutek as this is the selling point for some ecutek mappers shourly the license should be there already.

i was hoping i would n't have to pay full whack i will probably give him an email as stated above

i was wondering how to find out if my car has a ecutek license, its a 2003ppp with certificate etc

The clutch isn't any issue it has just been upgraded along with the fly wheel it's a 53 wrx recently fitted with a newly rebuit sti bottom end, the max bhp on a vf35 I'm informed is about 330 and about the same torque so I don't think the gear box is an issue either but again I could be wrong

Hi i would just like to know what bar of boost a sti bottom end will take I've heard about 1.7 to 1.8 is pretty safe for the sti block but I could be misinformed

I paid 170 for used pinks, I don't know about the copies on eBay but they can only be that cheap for 1 reason

I work offshore mate as a (vendor) ie not full time what your talking about the rgit alone won't cut it, I would be very surprised if you got a job with anything to do with drilling I know ruffnecks trying to get jobs as roustes meaning a cut in wages there is alot out of work and they will get the call before any unexperiance people but on a better note for your best chance of work you will need a rigging ticket + at least level 1 rope access not either or so unless you invest in they tickets the outlay for the rgit could be wasted I've got a contact for the ropes woman at rigblast if you want it
