  1. I'm up for meeting, is 08:00 a good time, do we have to be there before 09:00,

my letter says that we should be, so we are parked (where ever) before the general public arrives?

Any clue on how long it would take from the services to get to the track?

  5. She sure is a nice beast, had a few issues with the rear suspension but hope to get those all ironed out in the next week or so.

Silver one was sold (sadly) she served me well but the mileage was creeping up so thought i'd best replace her...

Anyone out and about soon, not seen much action on here tbh over the last few months.....?

  6. Hi Everyone,

It has been a while since the last meet, i can see another thread a few days ago,is there a meet happening in Witney now or have these been abandoned?

  7. if it was your turbo seals it will blow blue smoke out of the exhaust. sounds like the rear two half moon on the back of the rocker cover need re sealing.

Hi, would those have been replaced when the rocker cover gaskets were changed?

  8. Hi All,

I am after a little bit of advice, i had the rocker cover gaskets changed 600 miles ago by CS, the O/S was leaking slightly and I could smell and see smoke coming from that side of the engine when going over 2500 revs and also at times when idle.

Here is the problem, i didn't drive it very far for the last week so she never realy warmed up as i was staying near my place of work, i dont rag it or anything like that when cold, but when i had to return to Oxford I could smell oil buring again, i presumed it was the car iin front of me (hoped), yesterday when cleaning and letting her warm up before going out for a spin when I pulled away there was a huge plume of blue smoke and then all was clear again, i pulled over and checked and once again on the O/S near the turbo smoke was coming out, it doesnt appear to be alot of oil but it is very hard to see if it is coming from around the turbo or further down...(you can only see smoke and not oil)

Anyone think that the turbo is on its way out of (fingers crossed :( Not) the rocker cover gasket is leaking again, the thing that worries me is how did it find its way out throught the exhaust?

if the turbo is on its way out, shall i go for a IHI VF34 or the stock, or just get it replaced and then see about replacing her?

    help :

  11. Hi Stu,

I managed to do a quick wave back, was running late, on my way up to Cotswolds to get her serviced..

It's going well, shame the same can't be said for the car, service went ok but alas there is a problem, i'll give a quick rundown of how to best descibe the problem and what the solution could be.

    Problem

I noticed that there was a problem with acceleration, the power appeared to come in waves but if you pushed it it seemed ok, i asked CS to check it out for me while having a service.

    Fault could be ;)

The wastegate controller isnt getting any message from the ECU to do anything, the turbo apears to dump the pressure out somewhere (didnt understand all of it) and drops off without warning then builds back up again, it must be a fast process i guess, the boost pressure went up to nearly 1.2 and drops to 7. something.

    ECU possible replacement required :D

Oh dear, it seems to drive ok though as long as it isnt kept within a certain limit..

    How's it going with you?

Hope to be on the next meet if the car hold up

    Rich

  12. Hi Andy,

That took a while for me to answer didn't it, wonder if your still tracking this page...

I had an Afterburner Vortex fitted with centre pipe, while there thought i'd also have the fast flow panel filter fitted.

Sounds very nice now, still got some problems with acceleration, but it's being serviced at the end of hte month i'll see what they can figure out.

    How have you been?

    Rich
