  1. , gotta live up before the senses go! :o

    Never a truer sayin eh?

And wow bit of a sore brake change eh?

Iv just had to do my rear suspension too got a full set shockies/springs cheap. Standard tho but time and money is the issue but im able to do my own so lightens it a bit especialy the pocket. Christ it was the brakes last wk that left me 500 oot.

But the pleasure we get from the cars makes up for it. well for me it does.

  2. iam with conner ive only got this site as sidc and thats how i refer to it with friends. And didnt know its other alias untill this thread when i searched. But hopefully both can work along side with out there being confusion and enjoy a good crowd.

  3. hi to all

Well ive got 134.000 miles on my scoob. And as a result would like to know what should be changed etc.

I have no previous history on it, apart from the story of its accident.

so ive done the oil, filters, plugs,ht leads and a new cat. So next is the timming belt as its high up. Then my clutch as its not as quick as it was plus ive had a slip every now and then but only when cold. Or so it seems, im also waiting on new brakes to arrive. (upgrades)

So after that its the suspension as my both rear shocks are gonners, well 1 is for sure.

But my main concern is the engine. The only oil leak i can see is from my sump a small hole and loads of rust so must go. Other than that i cant fault the engine only a very faint rattle (thats expected for age and mileage) But what do i know.

The cars a 97 classic and would prefer to stay standard coz there cant be many left. And i prefer the rarity. any suggestions or what to look out for would be grate

  4. iam actually looking for the whole rear end just behind the bumper al try and post a pic

    scooby01.jpg

ive sourced a bumper for a tenner (pretty good i think) have the spoiler repaired and the boot lid will be pulled oot

my floor pan seems ok. so its just the panel that the boot closes onto and the lights bolt ti. i did have a part number but dont know where its went

  5. ive not yet joined yet as im more in tune with the way this site works and the infos no bad either but i will join the other as variety is good and who knows might learn new/better things

  6. i got a pm on this site aswell as scoobie net from him inviting me over so i did and my hat off to Conner for giving it a bash id thought about it and that was where i left it

  7. glad you re converted coz after a totaly crap year and a half of pure sheds. i decided to splash oot a little and get my first scoob. and after having it for about 4 months now id never change it. and have had my fair share of dents dings scuffs etc. after all i bought mine with damage to the rear and wont grudge a penny of fixing her all up. as it brings a huge smile on my face and makes me feel great when driving thats "PRICELESS" good auld master card

    GRIN IT AND BEAR IT

  8. hi was searching the web and local auto shops looking for a rear end panel, the one the lights bolt up to and boot latches. But can only find an American supplier that wont ship.

So can anyone recomend anywhere to get these from.

Think thats why the previous owners insurance wouldnt fix it. After being told it hadnt went thru insurance then findin out it had, annoyed me coz now ive gotta fix it all up to get sum id check thingy done, before i get the new documents. And then ive gotta pay for the privilage no fair, so it just aswell i think the cars great and enjoy every drive init.

  9. LOL!

Wouldn't part with that amount of cash for a car of that age - 500bhp or not. And, as someone pointed out, the inside is like a shed.

i 2nd that its age dont reflect the price maybe if it had some race history but then again

  10. orite peeps im having a couple of probs and hope that someone can help

other day there i was reversing a short distance up a steep road, when it felt like something underneath moved. And i heard a bang, but only when i first started. Then later on that night when i went out i got a slip from the clutch on a few occasions. But the next day it seemed ok (no slip). Then again a few days later it slipped away again, but now seems ok tho i dont seem to have the same power as before, at take off but theres no slip. then tonight when i went to reverse im getting a knocking sound but think it might be my exhaust, as it just got replaced today.

Any help/advice would be great cheers , craig

  11. I had a simmilar instance when i done deliveries for a private company, and my boss at the time got the same squeal as you. But he then went on and claimed thier insurance on the public liability side. And won it straight off, as its similar in term off you falling and hurting yerself. But iam sure he went thru his own insurance first thou.

Anyhow shame on the damage eh? wot a cun+
