  1. Sweet, good pics there. It was good to put some faces to the names and the kids enjoyed it, the boy still won't shut up about the cars. Bring on the next meet!
  2. The offending camera van was parked in a layby, legally... I don't remember seeing any signs form cameras anywhere near the van, i think there should be one within 1/2 a mile but i may be wrong, and the road angel in the car was active and never made a bleep (it's updated weekly). I've used the A9 from Aviemore south to Edinburgh then A1 to Northumberland and back more times than i care to mention but i have never seen a van in that spot. At the end of the day i was caught..... i'll live with it and take the hit. Obviously if there was a way out i'd happily take it but as the saying goes 's**** happens'.
  3. Maxxed Ross.... I ain't been lucky, the paperwork arrived today! That's the problem with all these bloody camera's, i'm getting done for overtaking an HGV. If it was a traffic car i would probably have gotten a bollocking. I wouldn't have minded but i was in line with the cab when i saw the camera van but i couldn't slow down straight away cos there was a 5 series up my chuff and he needed some room as well. Live and learn.... 3 points in and £60 out then.
  4. Thought so, still if i could get off it i would. Cheers
  5. Hi all..... right. Last Friday i was trundling up the A9 back to the frozen north and got stuck behing an HGV doing 40-45 mph. At the first safe opportunity i had a made a passing moove and found myself looking at a nice white van with a camera poining at me. I was clocked at 72 mph in a 60 zone. One of my work colleagues belives that as i was overtaking and you should do so as quickly and safely as possible i could have mittigating circumstances and not get the points etc. I was just wondering if anyone out there knew what the correct interpretation of the law is, the letter i have says basically if i want to argue about it we'll see you in court and instead of 3 points and £60 it could go up to 6 points and £1000. As soon as i was passed the HGV i dropped back to 60 mph and the Videographic Evidence they have should show this. Don't get me wrong i made a mistake (getting clocked) and will take the hit, i have 0 points at the moment so it won't kill me but i'd just like to know if it's worth fighting it. Cheers..
  6. My WRX had/has it. Bought it a month ago and it had it's own eco-system under the spare wheel. Cleaned it out, used some silicone grease on the boot seal and put sealant on the bols for he spoiler and the brake light cable. So far it seems to be ok...... but i haven't taken the spare out to check yet, it all seems dry though.
  7. Hi, for me it's anything by Clive Barker. I have them all and must have read them all about 5 times. Recently i've been going through a WWII phase, reading books like Nazi's a warning from history and one on Operation Barbarossa (german invasion of russia) and am currently 3/4 of the way through a book about Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor. Wonder what phase will be next?

  9. I'll be there if I'm not off down south, just had a call off my sister cos one of my uncle's died today. At the moment though I'll see you all at b & q....
  10. With a blackberry you sort of need the disc......it backs the phone up once a week so you don't loose anything and synchs all the features with the computer so you loose nothing and can update it. I know what you mean though i've done it before. The phone's are easy to use the disc just stops you loosing everything off it!
  11. The phone should have come with the desktop manager software. download the update and use the manager to update the phone (plugged into the usb). I;ve used blackberry's for years, it couldn't be easier.
  12. Hi all, I finally got round to joining as a full member. Was using Davey L as a log in but had problems when i registered so it's changed to this one. I live in Kinloss in the north of Scotland. Bought my 2004 WRX on 23rd December last year, after lots of good help from the members here. The car standard at the moment (possibly with the exception of the exhaust, garage thought it was an after market item?) but i don't know how long that will last, I can't remember the last car i owned that i didn't modify. Hopefully I'll see some you around soon. Cheers Dave
