About crazychick

  1. Not sure to be honest as I swap and change mine between the scooby and the zafira and to be fair they fit the same in both. I think if you search car seat belt fitment there are some photos that show the right and wrong way. Not sure of the sites of the top of my head. Mine are all in booster seat versions except for my youngest who wont use the harness in a car seat so she has the full seat but uses the seatbelt... She is old enough though.
  2. I think I would go back and have a M5 or something similar as I really do enjoy them. Only reason I have not got one is that I have the scooby. although wouldnt mind a charade GTTI for a track toy.. as something different.
  3. That sounds way to high... I think the car you just been offered was way better.. Okay my bugeye was a 51 with 80K but I would be lucky to see 3500 for it.. (but I got a buyer now)
  4. Thanks.. I have worked out what it is now and its certainly not meant to be on a N reg.. but I darent correct it as I dont want to get stung for the extra inport taxes as it was less than 10 years old when it was imported in March 2006.
  5. yeah seems the importers were trying to get out of the extra costs of import taxes so its been registered as a 1996 car when in fact it is a 98... obviously this could be claimed to be a slight misread of the 8 to a 6... Only thing is I have been told if I go through the hassle of changing it to a later plate, that I may end up with the import taxes to pay.. so as I have NO intention of selling the car on.. I shall leave it as is for now. I know what model it is now which is all I really needed to know.. Although I did buy it as a v4 just never even thought about what plate it was on..
  6. its has the V ltd stickers on it if that helps... but what year would that make it.. its been suggested to me that it was registered as a 96 because it was imported in 2006 and that if it was as it seems a later car that they would have had to pay the SVA fee for importing a newer car.. which would have been £1000..... It has the later dash I know this.. but they are saying that someone must have crashed it and swapped all the model numbers onto the car... as it was a version 3 when they sold it. I have asked them for the original documents and have emailed Subaru Japan, with all the chassis number and everything off the car..and see what they send it back as.
  7. hello Amanda and welcome..
  8. I wish I knew.. been told its a 1996 car that would make it one.. but my model code is coming back as a Sept 97 onwards version 4. Type R. hence my interest on how easy it is to swap the dash as my dash is definitely the 2nd one.
  9. I cant help but at least I know now mine does have the later dash in it.. whether standard or not is a good question. Hope someone answers you..
  10. Can anyone confirm for me the model of my car.. being told by the dvla that it is a 1996 and the dealer that imported it agrees. The model code for my car is GC8 E2DD thanks.. if it helps I also have the dash that has the storage above the centre console.. not sure if that makes a difference..
  11. I agree and wouldnt suggest that you do it all via courses... For instance on paper I am a fully qualified wheel and tyre fitter for motorbikes.. but never once ACTUALLY done it.. I was told best way was to get a garage to sponser me and go to college to complete the nvq's while working there. I do have mechanical knowledge but from working on my own cars.. I am lucky that my hubby has been a mechanic a long time and often manages to fix peoples cars when dealers have failed to work out the issue.. but he prefers to look rather than slap the car on a diagnostic.. but my abilities lay with simple cars and engines. I mean okay yes I can strip a bike down and put it back together and I can do similar with a a series or k series engine but my knowledge is limited to those two. Seriously if you want to do mechanics you will have to find a college course AND a place that will get you the experience too. I know people are saying that paper isnt important and I agree with that... there is a guy at my hubbys work, fully qualified mechanic on paper so there for was able to go for his mot licence... but he cant do jack. Yet I know many unqualified mechanics that know loads.
  12. Done loads of research on this now and they are stating that they started in 1997 ... that the earliest type R would be a MY97. now thats all well and good but mine says at the dvla that it is a 1996 and on a n reg.. so confused now.
  13. thank you.. I am totally in love.. and sorry to my dear hubby if your reading this.. I am not meaning to neglect you so much..
  14. yeah it was at the bubble.. got back at 4am from picking up the type R... slept for a bit then got up to go to the bubble.. Got the hubby to drive the zafira down to his work, pick up the wrx and take them both to the bubble..
