Well pulled my finger out.
now to strip the heads off this engine and re-fit to the 2.1.
question is do I get them skimmed or not?

Front shafts taken out one with hub still attached :vangry:
Fluids dropped and front bumper off

Ciaran thanks mate ,if i am not fixed i might still give you a shout cheers.
I'm away offshore for 3 weeks if you aren't sorted give me a shout can provide gearbox with matching diff if required.
Would not not be cheaper to just buy another box and take your chances?

Hi guy's i was just wondering if anyone had a 5 speed box that i could borrow for my bugeye so i could remove mine and get it fixed ..
I know i know ,like most folk don't have one or 2 just lying around
Could be taken in the same context as say the fine chap who addresses you on a Glasgow street " Here pal any spare change/fags "
So if you could check your pockets or anywhere for a "Spare" gearbox and let me know if this is too long a shot Or perhaps any other avenue i could go down ..
Any help advice will be greatly recieved

Reason i am asking is that it is my daily driver and i need it for work ..
Bad timing if I was no away this week you could have had one from me. As it is I am away till 20th feb

Well seeing as I am offshore and have the day off time for a little update

Purchased
MD321T which is being sent straight from the seller to Lateral for a billet compressor wheel
Managed to pick up a set of pretty much brand new disks for the AP's to replace the old warped ones
Purchased Exedy twin plate (probably overkill for what i need just now but future proof)
Home on Jan 15th for 3 weeks so plan is strip the engine and all the drive train from the P1
Send PPG box away to be rebuilt into my DCCD box
Fit full R180 drive train and rear brembos minus box
Rebuild 2.1 with the Big port AVCS heads (after I calculate the CR)
Install reversed inlet and billet fuel rails with all fuel lines
Plus all the other daft parts I need and hopefully get it running
Have most parts so no reason not to get on with it

i have heard many a good report of alastairs work and best of all hes one of the few mappers willing to travel.
Sadly he cant map my car at the moment without expensive syvecs but that may be about to change with soon release of esl for 99/00 cars.
Why not get an ecutek map?

The CV joints may be the issue Ciaran, although mine isn't low so I hope they'll live. Time will tell, in the meantime I'm just waiting on John measuring up :)/> Are your shafts fitted yet?
As far as engine goes, no changes. That'll help the shaft situation too. The power I'm at now is enough for the car on the road. It's at a level I'm happy with, that is reliable and the next steps are just too expensive.

Not fitted mine yet. P1 is getting stripped next time I'm home. Then painted and 2.1 from my old car is going in. Car will be getting a lot of bits stripped
cleaned up and painted to make the car mint and il be running 400bhp next year. Just going to be a fast road car with the odd track day thrown in

Andy forrest is running the same shafts so you will be safe enough
The shafts going on the P1 are from the group buy mentioned above. They were about £250 from memory but will never break
I'm not saying the CVs won't though
What engine route you going down baz?

I'm £600 for the P1 aged 29, 6NCD and 3 points. That's all mods declared (320bhp) and agreed value of £8k

Ciaran mate.... you dont know what a complete car is... judging by all the bits you have sitting around - Craig tells me you could have at least three imprezas built by now.
Not any more white car is away to a new home minus the best bits.

My P1 is already mint you cheeky bugger... its yours that needs all the work.
By the time I get a refund from the insurance, less than 500 quid and a day and a half of my time for some web work.
I was originally going down the cheepy Fiesta/Fiat route, but getting something 4wd for winter was more appealing.

Looking good mate wish i had a shed like that think you should keep wheels standard colour of silver so it looks like standard p1
They wheels came as standard in anthrecite or silver. Mine came anthrecite and will be stay that colour

We will see how the the respray and few other bits get on over the winter and see if i have money for a decent turbo.
One way or another it will be mint and back on the road for my 30th

Yes defo. May even just put the 2.1 back together with the VF28 just so its finished by the spring

Keep the updates coming Ciaran, whats the plans when( big when lol) the project is finished?

It will never be finished but plan is safe 400bhp for next year till the new engine is ready for 2014
